Xieqiao town

Xieqiao Town, subordinate to Yingshang County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, is located 20 kilometers north of Yingshang County, adjacent to Fengtai in the East, the ancient city in the west, Huangqiao town in the south, and digou across the Jihe River in the north. Fuhuai railway runs from east to west and connects with Dajing Jiulong and Tianjin Shanghai lines. It has a third-class freight station, 224 provincial road and Panxie highway crossing the border. 16 reconstructed and newly built roads, with a total length of 85 km, have formed a crisscross road network, and villages and schools have been connected with asphalt roads. The town has a total area of 105.94 square kilometers, 28 administrative villages, 91900 permanent residents (in 2017), and 78148 mu of arable land. XIAOZHANGZHUANG, located in the northeast of the town, has been awarded the global top 500 environmental protection by the United Nations Program for its outstanding achievements in protecting, improving and developing the ecological environment. Historical evolution

Xieqiao was originally named after a bridge built by the surname Xie. Later, a passing shop was set up here and gradually developed into a market. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, a general manager was set up here to manage the politics and military affairs in this area. During the period of the Republic of China, Xieqiao township was established. After liberation in 1948, the people's Government of Xieqiao township was established. Xieqiao district system was established in 1949. When it was founded in 1961, it was still called Xieqiao district. In 1969, Xieqiao commune was established. In 1979, Xieqiao district was restored.
