Tupi Township

Tupo Township, belonging to Linquan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, is located on the southeast edge of Linquan County, bordering Funan County in the East, Luzhai town in the south, Huaji town and Laoji town in the west, with a total area of 68.76 square kilometers. The township has 29 administrative villages, 246 natural villages, 408 villager groups, 52661 permanent residents (in 2017), and 63000 mu of cultivated land.

Economics

Tupi township is a typical agricultural township. There are abundant light and heat, flat terrain, fertile soil, power grids all over the villages and households, and irrigation and water conservancy infrastructure has been greatly improved, basically achieving the goal of irrigation in drought, drainage in flood, and income protection in drought and flood. The yield per unit area and benefit of crops have been greatly improved. The main crops are wheat, soybean, corn, potato and so on. Economic crops include Stevia rebaudiana, edible fungi, cotton, fine vegetables and so on. Stevia rebaudiana, Yanqiu pepper and early spring watermelon are the characteristic products of TUBI. Abundant agricultural products provide favorable natural conditions for the development of breeding land, and excellent breeds such as ternary hybrid pig, nandewen cattle and Boer goat develop rapidly. There are more than 40000 live pigs, 3000 beef cattle and 6000 goats in the township every year. In 2003, the total agricultural output value of the township was 140 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 1198 yuan, and the people's income of market town residents exceeded 1800 yuan. In 2004, the gross national product of the township was 183.47 million yuan, an increase of 33% over the previous year. The total output value of agriculture is 87.08 million yuan, the private economy is 56.99 million yuan, the labor export income is 45.85 million yuan, the financial income is 4.03 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers is 1358 yuan. The credit deposit balance of the township was 58.3 million yuan, and the loan scale was 28.3 million yuan. The natural growth rate of population should be controlled within 10 ‰. The sustainable development of national economy and all-round progress of social undertakings have been realized. Abundant agricultural resources and a large number of surplus labor provide resource guarantee for the development of processing industry. In the past two years, due to the increase of investment, the township enterprises have developed rapidly. Flour processing, plate processing and vegetable dehydration have become the leading industries. More than ten processing enterprises with an output value of more than one million have emerged in the township, with an annual output value of 35 million yuan in 2004. The annual output of high-quality refined flour is stable at 13000 tons, and it is sold to surrounding large and medium-sized cities. Dehydrated garlic slices and dehydrated ginger have entered the international market.
