Tongcheng economic and Technological Development Zone

Anhui Tongcheng economic development zone is a national development zone approved by Anhui Provincial People's government and retained by the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of land and resources. The planning control area is 68 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 10 communities (villages). Since its establishment in 2002, the district has adhered to high starting point positioning, high-level planning, high standard construction and high-efficiency management. The planned area of the first phase is 10 square kilometers, realizing "six links and one leveling". In 2007, there were more than 120 projects in the zone, 68 enterprises completed and put into operation, and 44 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, realizing a GDP of 650 million yuan and a fiscal revenue of 117 million yuan.

Tongcheng city is located in the middle of Anhui Province, adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East and Dabie Mountains in the West. With a land area of 1571 square kilometers and a population of 750000, the city governs one provincial Economic Development Zone, 12 towns and two streets. The advantages of traffic location are obvious. Hejiu railway, Hurong Expressway and national highway 206 run through the whole territory, and water transportation goes directly to the Yangtze River through Caizi lake.

Tongcheng has a long history and splendid culture. It is the hometown of the famous Tongcheng school and the hometown of Huangmei Opera. In August 1996, the county was removed and the city was established. Contemporary Tongcheng has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development. It has two model middle schools (Tongcheng middle school and Tiancheng middle school) with more than one hundred years of experience. There are 3000 doctors from Tongcheng at home and abroad. The city's economy has formed five advantageous industries, including plastic processing, packaging and printing, chemical building materials, machinery manufacturing and deep processing of agricultural and sideline products. There are more than 15000 individual and private enterprises in the city.

On September 7, 2001, the people's Government of Anhui Province officially approved the establishment of Tongcheng Private Economic Development Zone in Anhui Province.

On May 28, 2002, the awarding and commencement ceremony of Tongcheng Private Economic Development Zone in Anhui Province was held.

On August 19, 2002, enterprises entering the zone began to start construction one after another.

On August 30, 2002, Tongcheng municipal Party committee and government made the decision on accelerating the construction of Tongcheng Private Economic Development Zone

On December 30, 2002, Tongcheng municipal government made a "decision on the implementation of tax sharing financial management system in Tongcheng private economic development zone".

On February 19, 2003, Fang Zhaoxiang, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and chairman of the provincial CPPCC, visited Tongcheng private economic development zone for investigation.

On March 15, 2003, Wang Jinshan, vice secretary of Anhui provincial Party committee and governor, inspected the construction and development of Tongcheng private economic development zone.

On March 18, 2003, the expansion project of Huasheng color printing packaging Co., Ltd. was completed and put into operation.
