Laozhou town
Laozhou Town, a suburb of Tongling City, Anhui Province, is adjacent to the Yangtze River, with a total area of 114.24 square kilometers. By 2019, Laozhou town has 19 administrative villages with a total population of 75000.
In 1968, after the county Revolutionary Committee replaced the county people's Committee, Laozhou district established a revolutionary committee, and Laozhou established a revolutionary committee. In 2005, after the merger of towns, the former Laozhou town and the former Laowan town were merged into a new Laozhou town. In October 2018, Anhui provincial government approved Laozhou town to be under the jurisdiction of Tongling suburb.
Laozhou town is the third batch of national development and reform pilot towns. In 2017, it won the titles of national civilized town, Anhui civilized town, Provincial Ecological Town and Anhui advanced health unit.
Historical evolution

In 1981, Laozhou people's commune was restored.
In 1984, Laozhou commune was renamed Laozhou Township, belonging to Laozhou district.
In February 1992, Laozhou township (Wangtao, Zhenxing and Hudong villages belong to Laowan township) and Hongyang Township were merged into Laozhou town.
In 2005, after the merger of towns, the former Laozhou town and the former Laowan town were merged into a new Laozhou town.
