Shenxiang town
Shenxiang town is subordinate to Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East, Tianmen Mountain in the South and Wuhu City. It is located at the North bridgehead of Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge. It is located at the junction of one district and three counties, namely Jiujiang District, Wuwei County, He county and Hanshan county. The town governs 17 administrative villages and 6 communities, covering an area of 238 square kilometers, including 107000 mu of arable land and 27000 mu of water surface; the town has a population of 100635 (in 2017), nearly 30000 population and 25000 floating population. In 2010, it was identified as the demonstration area of undertaking industrial transfer in Wanjiang City belt and the starting area of Jiangbei industrial concentration area.
Geographical location
Shenxiang town is the west gate of Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. Located in the North-South transportation hub of Wanjiang River, it is the intersection of Yangtze River economic belt and Hefei Wuhu industrial corridor. It is adjacent to Tianmen Mountain in the East, Wuhu old city in the south, Hanshan County in the West and Niutun River in the north.
Hefei Wuhu expressway connecting Hefei, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan and other large and medium-sized cities opens in the town. It is close to Yuxikou port, the largest energy export port of the Yangtze River and the first freight port on the North Bank of the Wanjiang river. Huainan railway passes through the town area in an "L" shape.
Honors
Shenxiang town was established in 1984. In 1992, Shenxiang town was regarded as the "window" of "echoing Pudong and developing Wanjiang" by Anhui provincial government, and it was listed as the key economic development zone at the municipal level. In 1999, Shenxiang town was identified as the central construction town of Anhui Province, in 2000, it was approved as the comprehensive reform pilot town of Anhui Province, in 2001, it was identified as the economic development pilot zone of Chaohu City, and in 2002, it was identified as 27 key demonstration zones of Anhui Province In 2004, it was identified as one of the national key demonstration towns. In 2010, it was identified as the demonstration area of undertaking industrial transfer in Wanjiang City belt and the starting area of Jiangbei industrial concentration area.
On June 30, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance pilot demonstration towns in Anhui Province.

The town area is 238 square kilometers, of which the town area is 3.5 square kilometers. In the town, there are one 110000 volt substation, seven waterworks with a daily water supply capacity of more than 20000 tons, more than 30000 program-controlled telephones, 35 primary and secondary schools, 15 kindergartens and more than 24000 primary and secondary school students, and eight hospitals, of which Shenxiang central health center is a first-class hospital. There are 52 village level medical centers with more than 300 health technicians; Shenxiang town is a demonstration town of "double hundred project" and "Rhododendron project" in Anhui Province, with comprehensive cultural stations, libraries, science and technology experimental buildings, broadcasting stations, cable TV and other cultural facilities.

The planned area of Shenxiang Industrial Park is 10.5 square kilometers, with a construction area of 3 square kilometers. The town has 112693 mu of arable land, 28220 mu of fishery breeding area, 232266 mu of total sown area of crops (including multiple cropping), including 126977 mu of grain and oil crops, 47734 mu of oil crops, 13680 mu of cotton crops, 37587 mu of vegetables, 5912 mu of melons, 50000 mu of high-quality grain and oil base, 30000 mu of pollution-free vegetable base, and more than 5 million greenhouse poultry breeding. In 2010, it achieved 72.89 million yuan of fiscal revenue, 300 million yuan of industrial added value, 1.111 billion yuan of fixed assets investment and 6800 yuan of per capita net income of farmers.

Shen township was established in 1949, a commune was established in 1958, a township was changed in 1983, and a town was established in 1987. Located in the south of Hexian County, 40 kilometers away from the county. In 1996, it covers an area of 66.6 square kilometers and has a population of 37000. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, including Yangwan, Maqiao, Dading, Zhangba, Shenxiang, qiangzhao, Ruhuang, Badong, iron tower, Huangma, Yuzhu, Shuangqiao, Shuangcheng, Tanshan, Hegeng, Yandu, Sanyi, Bajiao, Huainan and Zhouchen.
In 2004, Luobai town was abolished and merged into Shenxiang town. After the adjustment, Shenxiang town has jurisdiction over 2 neighborhood committees and 21 administrative villages, with an area of 111 square kilometers and a population of 58900. The town government is located in shenjiaxiang.
In 2005, two neighborhood committees of Huangshan temple and Wuxianji, and six administrative villages of Sunzhuang, Baowei, Min'an, Dage, Dingchen and Dajiang were merged into Shenxiang town.
After the adjustment, Shenxiang town has four neighborhood committees: Shenxiang street, Baiwang, Huangshan temple and Wuxianji, and 29 Administrative Committees: Huangma, qiangzhao, Yangwan, Dading, Ruhuang, Silian, Bajiao, Fengwei, Shenxiang, Taiji, lighthouse, shuangba, Anfeng, Shuanghe, hulang, Sunzhuang, Baowei, Min'an, Dage, Dingchen, Dajiang, Yongzhen, Zhufang, Xinba, Nangeng, fumiao, Baoshan, Huangzhuang and Fengcheng Village.
On July 14, 2011, the reply of the State Council on Approving the cancellation of prefecture level Chaohu City and adjustment of some administrative divisions in Anhui Province (Guo Han No. 84): Shenxiang town of He county was put under the jurisdiction of Jiujiang District of Wuhu City.
The former Wuxian market town is located in the south of He county, 25 kilometers away from the county. East of the Yangtze River, and (county) Shen (Lane), Huang (Temple) Bajiao highway across the countryside. Wuxian commune was established in 1963 and changed to township in 1983. In 1996, it covers an area of 46.3 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. It governs 14 administrative villages including Zhangzhuang, Liuhe, yangdai, Dage, Wuxian, Sunzhuang, Jiangyang, hotel, Jindai, Zhanghong, Daliu, Dingchen, Huangshan and racecourse.
In 2004, Zhouwang, Xinglong and Dajiang villages in Baiqiao town were merged into Wuxian market town. After the adjustment, Wuxianji town governs a neighborhood committee of Wuxianji and 11 administrative villages of Sunzhuang, Baowei, Wuxian, Min'an, Dage, Dingchen, Huangshan temple, Machang, Zhouwang, Xinglong and Dajiang, with an area of 45 square kilometers and a population of 31100. In 2005, Wuxianji town was abolished. Huangshan temple, Wuxianji two neighborhood committees and Sunzhuang, Baowei, Min'an, Dage, Dingchen, Dajiang six villages were merged into Shenxiang town. Xinglong Village was merged into Baiqiao town.
The original Luobai town is located in the south of He county, 29 kilometers away from the county. Huainan railway and Hefei Chaohu Wuhu Expressway cross the border. Luobai commune was established in 1958 and changed to township in 1983. In 1996, it covers an area of 44.4 square kilometers and has a population of 19000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages including Yanshi, Baiwang, hulang, shibazhuang, Sandun, Wangxiang, LuoTan, Taixi, Gangyu and gengpeng. In 2004, it was withdrawn and merged into Shenxiang town.
Yuanyong town is located in the south of He county, 37 kilometers away from the county. There is a wharf for Chaohu to enter the Yangtze River, and Hechaowu Expressway passes by. Yongzhen commune was established in 1960 and changed to township in 1983.
In 1996, it covers an area of 68.5 square kilometers and has a population of 29000. It has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages including Yong Town, qiankeliu, Qianhe, Yuxi, pengma, Zhufang, Shizhuang, Gangliang, Gongqiao, Shiqiao, Qiaobei, Xinba, Huangli, Nangeng, Houhe, Dukou, fumiao, Baoshan, Huangdu, Shuangguan and Huangzhuang. In July 2004, it governed 13 villages including Xinba, fumiao, Nangeng, Ganghe, Baoshan, Huangzhuang, Shuangguan, Gongqiao, Yongzhen, Shiqiao, Yuxi, pengma and Zhufang. In 2005, it was withdrawn and merged into Shenxiang town.
