Zhonglong town

Zhonglong town belongs to Chaohu City, Hefei City, Anhui Province. It is located in the west suburb of Chaohu City, adjacent to Chaohu Lake in the south, 50 kilometers away from the provincial capital Hefei.

Zhonglong town has a permanent resident population of 34539 (in 2017), which governs one neighborhood committee and seven administrative villages. Heyu highway and Huainan railway pass through.

Evolution of organizational system

Zhonglong township was established in 1956. It was changed into commune in 1958, township in 1983 and town in 1995. In 1996, it covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 33000. It has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages including Jianhua, Zhongyao, Taiping, leqiao, Chongyuan, Zhouyang, Shangwu, Guangyan, Sanwei, Wangmiao, zhaoqiao, Jiaoyou, Miaoji, zhupod, Panqiao, Buli, luoxiang, Wudu, Chenxu, Lianwei and Yanhu.
