Shangpan town
Shangpan Town, under the jurisdiction of Linhai City, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 99 square kilometers (2017), including a land area of 64.3 square kilometers and a sea area of 63.7 square kilometers. It governs 42 administrative villages with 56243 people (2017). The town is the leading agricultural town in Taizhou city. Its Yilong brand "Broccoli" won the famous brand product of China International Agricultural Expo. Shangpan is known as the "hometown of pterosaur", "hometown of chess" and "Broccoli base". In 2008, the total industrial output value of the town was 660 million yuan, and the industrial and commercial tax revenue was 15.08 million yuan.

On November 20, 1989, the provincial government announced that the quarry of Aoli village in Shangpan was "Linhai pterosaur fossil origin protection area", and awarded the title of "hometown of pterosaurs" in Shangpan.
In 1999, the double happiness of playing chess, Jin Haiying won the world champion, Taizhou City awarded Shangpan town as the "hometown of chess". In 2006, Shangpan town was successively named "the hometown of folk art in Zhejiang Province" and "the strong town of sports in Zhejiang Province".
Economic overview
In the early 1980s, large-scale cultivation of cauliflower began. In 1989, broccoli was introduced. In 1998, broccoli in the base was rated as high-quality agricultural products in Zhejiang Province, and the planting area almost doubled every year. In 2000, the planting area of cauliflower in the base reached 60000 mu, of which the planting area of broccoli was 50000 mu, becoming the main export base of broccoli in China. In 2002, Linhai Shangpan broccoli industry cooperative, the first professional cooperative of broccoli, was established, marking a new stage of broccoli industry in Shangpan town.
In December 2002, Yilong broccoli was certified as green agricultural products in Zhejiang Province. Its production base was certified as pollution-free agricultural products base in Zhejiang Province. In 2003, it was certified as national pollution-free agricultural products. After new year's day in 2005, broccoli production and marketing entered the golden season.
Driven by the strong international market, export orders are coming one after another, and products are in short supply. All manufacturers and purchasing points are competing to buy. The eastern coastal area with Shangpan town as the center, the endless stream of transport vehicles and the busy and prosperous fresh-keeping plants constitute a new scene of modern regional agriculture.

Shangpan town has obvious resource advantages and broad development prospects. The town has 29 kilometers of mainland coastline, tens of thousands of mu of waste salt fields, and tens of thousands of mu of shallow sea beach can be reclaimed. The Beiyang beach in front of it is located in the town, with a reclaimed area of 32700 Mu.
There are many islands and reefs in the sea area, and the island coastline resources are rich. The coastal (Toumen) port area of Taizhou port under construction is also located in the town, with 33 wharves of 10000-50000 tons. After completion, it will become the central port area of Taizhou port.
