Huixi town

Huixi town was formed on January 9, 2002 by the merger of the former Xianrenqiao Township and the former Datian town. It is located in the north central part of Linhai City, adjacent to Dongcheng Town in the East, Hetou town in the west, Datian office in the South and Sanmen and Tiantai counties in the north. The town covers an area of 57 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 34 administrative villages, with a population of 12574 (in 2017), a cultivated land area of 9905 Mu and a mountain forest area of 57370 mu. It is designated by the municipal government as a resource protection satellite town in the north of Linhai central city.

Historical evolution

Liangtoumen commune and Xianrenqiao commune were established in 1958, and liangtoumen Township and Xianrenqiao commune were changed in 1984. In 1996, liangtoumen township was merged into Datian Town, and Datian town liangtoumen office was established. In 2002, the organizational system of Datian town and Xianrenqiao township was abolished, and Huixi town was established by merging the administrative region of former Xianrenqiao Township with 18 villages of former Datian Town, including juntou, tongyanling, shangxiliao, wayaoshan, Paiqian, Xiaman, jiang'ao, Lingjiao, Jiangen, Dongkeng, Xixi, liming, Xiaokeng, Fenglin, huangnitan, gu'ao, Nancheng and liangtoumen. Huixi town governs 37 villages and is located in juntou village.
