Mengjiang town
Mengjiang Town, belonging to Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, is located in the northeast of Shanhaiguan District, adjacent to Suizhong County, Liaoning Province in the East, Beijing Harbin Railway in the south, first pass town in the West and Yanshan Mountain in the north. The total administrative area is 41.53 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of registered residence in Meng Jiang was 18414.
Mengjiang town is named after the Mengjiang women's temple. In 1949, Mengjiang town was located in qingshigou, Shahezi, Cuizhuang and balibao villages. In 1996, Great Wall Township and nanyaohe Township were merged and Mengjiang town was established. As of June 2020, Mengjiang town has jurisdiction over 38 administrative villages. The town people's government is located at 6-1 Taichang road.
In 2018, Mengjiang town had 37 industrial enterprises and 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1949, Mengjiang town was located in qingshigou, Shahezi, Cuizhuang and balibao villages.
In 1953, it belonged to qingshigou, qianmianhuazhuang and Taozhuang.
In June 1956, six natural villages of wangfushi, gaojiawa, xiaomaoshan, Damaoshan, yanjiatun and shunshandian in Suizhong County of Liaoning Province were designated as Guishan customs area.
In September 1956, qingshigou and qianmianhuazhuang were merged into Changcheng Township, and Taozhuang township was renamed Mengjiang township.
In September 1958, the countryside was withdrawn and the Great Wall commune was built.
In June 1961, Mengjiang commune was established in the Great Wall commune.
In 1974, Mengjiang commune was renamed nanyaohe commune.
In August 1976, the suburb of Qinhuangdao was set up, and nanyaohe commune was put under the jurisdiction of the suburb.
In March 1984, the commune was abolished and changed into Changcheng Township and nanyaohe township. In June of the same year, the suburbs were abolished and nanyaohe township was classified as Shanhaiguan district.

famous scenery
Mengjiangnu Temple scenic area is located in Fenghuang mountain, 6.5km east of Shanhaiguan, which is composed of zhennu temple and mengjiangnu garden. Zhennu temple was built before the Song Dynasty. It was rebuilt by Zhang Dong in 1594, the 22nd year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hebei Province. In front of the temple, there are 108 steps leading to the mountain gate. Inside the red wall of the temple, there are two halls, bell tower, Zhenyi Pavilion, Wangfu stone, etc. In the back of the temple, there is a garden area with the style of water town in the south of the Yangtze River -- Meng Jiangnu yuan and the east west side hall, which reproduces the panoramic view of "Meng Jiangnu's story", the first of the four Chinese folklores. In September 1992, Shanhaiguan district government built a large-scale cultural garden named mengjiangnu garden in the north of mengjiangnu Temple according to the legend of mengjiangnu.
