Shupu town
Shupu Town, Haiyan County, Zhejiang Province is located in the south of the county. It borders Hangzhou Bay in the East and south, huangwan Township in Haining County in the west, and Luli and changchuanba townships in the north. The total area is 115.4 square kilometers (2017).
In 2007, the town governs 1 resident committee (1 natural town), 12 agricultural administrative villages (114 villager groups and 59 natural villages), 3 forestry teams and 1 fishing ground. There are 5788 households with 30986 people (in 2017). There are 47 families and 250 people living abroad, accounting for more than one third of the total number of overseas Chinese and Hong Kong people in the county. The town government is located in Shupu market town.

Shupu town has a dangerous terrain and has always been an important place for coastal defense, overlooking Changshan, Hulu mountain and Gaoyang mountain
Hangzhou Bay is a natural coastal barrier.
In the southeast of the old city of Shupu, there is the ecliptic pass, which is an important pass of Hangzhou Bay; in the southwest, there is Tan Xianling, which is located in the middle of shan'ao at the junction of Yanning and Nanjing counties. It is an important land route leading to Hangzhou in ancient times.
Geography and land
Shupu town is an isolated hilly plain area with an average altitude of 3.94 meters. It is negative to the mountains and faces the sea. The central part is an alluvial plain. It is known as "five mountains, one water and four fields". With the completion of Changshan river drainage project in Jiaxing area and the matching of water system, the situation of nine years of drought and poor waterway in history was changed, and the waterway was added for the first time. The town has 7731 mu of arable land (5879 mu of paddy field), 2200 mu of specialized mulberry, 12500 mu of mountain and 120 mu of reclaimed tideland.
In addition to agriculture, it also reaps the benefits of mountains and seas. It mainly grows rice and cotton, and has diversified operations such as tea, citrus, melon and fruit, sericulture and aquatic products. The main local products are Nanhu citrus with a total yield of 2.08 million Jin and tea with a total yield of nearly 70000 Jin.
Before Song Daguan (1107-1110), Baolang salt farm was moved to the east of the town. There are 24 town run enterprises and 43 village run enterprises in the town, including Haiyan silk printing and dyeing factory, Shupu No.2 knitting factory, Shupu garment factory, and Shupu electric porcelain fire resistant factory. There are 84 joint households, family enterprises and 6111 farmers engaged in industrial production. The total output value of industry and agriculture is 43.05 million yuan.
Shupu town is studious and has a prosperous culture. It is famous for its people. In the 1980s, it became a doctor. By 2007, there were 1 middle school, 2 primary schools, 11 kindergartens, health centers in the town and health stations in each village. South South Lake is a national scenic spot in the southwest of the town.
Evolution of organizational system
Shupu is 36 miles southwest of the county. The town is named after qinwangshan in the southeast of the county and the river flowing out of the valley. Tang Kaiyuan five years (717) Suzhou governor Zhang Ting played home town. According to the book of pictures of Haiyan County in the Ming Dynasty, Shupu had a city and garrisons. There are many changes in the history of towns. In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Shangfu Township and Dezheng township; later, it belonged to Dezheng township. In the early Ming Dynasty, it belonged to the twelve and thirteen capitals of Dezheng township;
After the ninth year of Wanli (1581), the east of the town belonged to the southeast of the thirteen capitals, while the west of the town belonged to the southwest of the thirteen capitals. In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Shupu district. In 1932, it was established as a town. In 1934, it was a part of Shupu Town, Yong'an town and Qin village. In October 1946, it was established as Shupu town. In May 1949, Shupu was liberated and Shupu town and Yong'an Township were established, which belong to Shupu district.
In 1956, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Dongfang village of Shupu town was merged into Yanguan Township, while Chengbei and Changshan villages were divided into Yong'an Township, and Shupu town remained. In October 1958, Yongan, Liuli townships and Shupu town merged to establish Shupu commune.
In 1960, the south of Guantang commune (formerly Yanguan township) was included. In May 1961, it was rezoned and another changchuanba commune was built. In October of the same year, another Liuli commune was set up in the north of Shupu commune. In October 1983, it was restored to Shupu Township, and in October 1985, it was changed to Shupu town.
Scenic Spots and Historical Sites
Nanbei lake, a provincial scenic spot
Nanbei lake is located about 3 kilometers southwest of Shupu market town, covering a total area of 45 square kilometers. It is composed of four scenic spots: lake pond, mountain forest, ancient city and coastal area. The mountain, sea and lake are integrated in the area, with pleasant scenery and beautiful scenery.
Haiyan County Party committee and people's government regard the development of tourism as a pillar industry, and have invested more than 200 million yuan in scenic spots, roads, transportation, power supply, greening and other infrastructure construction. A number of scenic spots such as Hushan Zhenyi and Zaiqing villa have been developed. By holding tourism festivals and "golden autumn tour" and other activities, the number of tourists increases by more than 25% every year.
Memorabilia of reform and opening up
In July 1977, the south drainage project - Changshan river section was started and completed in 1979. This is the first time in the history of Shupu to add water channel.
In 1983, bu Bingfu of huluwan took the lead in setting up a family clothing factory in the whole county.
In 1984, he set up an individual joint venture in Haiyan.
In 1993, it was awarded "top 100 towns" by the provincial people's government; Haiyan textile market in the north of the town was completed, with a construction area of 15000 square meters.
In 1994, Mr. Zhu Boheng, an industrialist of Shupu nationality living in Canada, donated 700000 yuan to build Youbao kindergarten with a total investment of 1.3 million yuan. In October, the Shupu cultural center building with an investment of more than 1 million yuan was completed.
In October 1997, Mr. Zhu Boheng donated more than 100000 books, making the library more than 32000 books; Haiyan high voltage switch factory, the largest joint venture in the town, purchased and merged Zhejiang Xiangyuan Machinery Co., Ltd., a Sino foreign joint venture.
In 1998, it was approved by the provincial people's government as a pilot town for the comprehensive reform of small towns in the province; Dongfang village was named as a vegetable village by the county Party committee and the county people's government.
