Shendang Town, an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River, is located in Haiyan County, Zhejiang Province, on the North Bank of Hangzhou Bay. It is close to Shanghai, an international metropolis. The provincial scenic spot "Nanbei Lake" and the world wonder "Haining tide" are close at hand. Historical evolution

Shendang has a long history, and it was recorded from the beginning when the king of Qin ruled Haiyan County. In ancient times, it was a swamp land with many rivers and lakes, so it got its name. In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Yongtai township (later named Yongning township), in the early Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Wudu of Yongning Township, and in the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Shendang district. It was established in 1932. In 1950, the town was divided into Shendang Town, Zhennan Township and Zhenbei township. In March 1956, it was named Shendang town and Shendang township. In 1958, the town and township merged into Shendang Township, and in October of the same year, it became Shendang commune. In August 1959, today's Shendang market town was designated as jianshendang town. In October 1983, it was named Shendang town and Shendang township. In August 1985, Shendang township was merged into Shendang town.

In 1980, Shendang waterworks was built, and residents began to use tap water. In 1986, Haiyan Shendang highway was opened to traffic, and the subgrade of ring road was completed. In 1989, the cement pavement of Shendang Zhicheng highway was completed with a total investment of more than 1.7 million yuan. In 1990, the town's cable TV station was built. Filling waste ponds and streams to make good farmland

In order to increase land development and balance the total amount of cultivated land, according to the county's 1998 reclamation plan, Shendang town used the soil excavated from Pengcheng port to start construction in January of that year, and adopted mechanized mud suction and hydraulic filling method to dredge 126000 cubic meters of earth in Baishuiyang, a waste pond shared by 5, 6, 7 and 8 groups of Lizhuang village. By June, it was basically completed, and 88 mu of land was reclaimed. In group 2 of the village, 36000 cubic meters of soil was dredged and reclaimed for 23 mu. At the same time, the 14 groups of waste Creek in Hengjing village were dredged with 34000 earthwork and 22 mu of land was reclaimed. Lizhuang village, a famous village

Lizhuang village has always been one of the county's rice seed bases, mainly for planting rice, raising pigs and breeding mulberry and silkworm. Chen Miaoxiang

Chen Miaoxiang, born in 1949, is from Lizhuang village. In 1969, he worked as an accountant of the brigade, and there were no mistakes in 10 years. In 1980, he was elected by the masses as the team leader, which promoted the village's agricultural production to become an advanced one in the township. In 1986, he served as secretary of the village Party branch. Chen Miaoxiang firmly grasped the center of expanding the collective economy and successively set up hardware factories, metal cotton factories and furniture factories. After several ups and downs, it expanded into Kaikai Electric Appliance Factory. In 1998, the factory had its own capital of more than 1 million yuan without any bank loans. He is still used to crowding buses on business trips and hasn't received a subsidy for many years. In 1994, the town people's government decided to give Chen Miaoxiang an additional bonus of 5000 yuan after examination, but he insisted on not giving it. In his 13 years, Ren Zhishu has been rated as an excellent county-level Communist Party member every year.
