Tong Hui Street

Tanghui street is located in the northeast of Jiaxing City, adjacent to Suzhou Jiaxing canal in the west, Shanghai Hangzhou railway in the south, Qixing and Jiashan Yangmiao in Xiuzhou District. National Highway 320, sandiantang and Beijiao River pass through the street, about 8 km away from the exit of Shanghai Hangzhou Expressway. Jiaxing new freight station and 300 ton sea route of Shanghai Hangzhou railway are located in the city.

Evolution of organizational system

From the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, it was taipingfang in Jiaxing, Sixian Township, Linrui Township and urban area of Xiushui county. From the late Qing Dynasty to the liberation, it was Tanghui District, Tanghui Township, Tanghui town and taipingli in urban area. After liberation, it was established as Tanghui Township, Taiping Township and Xintang township. In 1956, Tanghui Township, Taiping Township and Xintang Township were merged into Tanghui township. In October 1958, Tanghui people's commune was established in Qixing, Qizhen and Tanghui townships. In 1961, it was divided into three people's communes, which are still called Tanghui. Tanghui township was restored in 1983. In 1984, Tanghui town and Taipingqiao neighborhood committee designated another Tanghui street, which was merged into Jiefang street in October 1988. Jiaxing is located 8 kilometers northeast of Xiucheng District, at the junction of Jiashan County. In 1983, the township implemented the rural contract responsibility system. In 1984, Xintang polder, the largest agricultural polder in the township, was built. In 1990, the township middle school was completed. In 1991, William sponge company, the first Sino foreign joint venture in Tanghui Township, was established. In 1995, Tanghui Township private economic Park was planned and Yongzheng bridge was rebuilt. In 1996, Xintang highway, the first mud bound gravel highway in the township, was built. Since its establishment in 1985, Tanghui Industrial Park has achieved coordinated development in external publicity, investment promotion, development and construction. It has introduced 10 projects of various types, with 35 million yuan of capital, 230 mu of development area, and the industrial park has begun to take shape. In terms of infrastructure construction, 10 million yuan has been invested. Changsheng Road, Zhengyuan road and Qiuping Road, which run through the park, have completed the asphalt pavement pouring, and the water supply and drainage, power and communication facilities have been able to meet the needs of the next stage of development.

Social customs

The farmers in Tanghui area have always had the custom of making rice and spending the summer off. Although this custom is carried out between the mother's family and the mother-in-law's family, it affects the villagers in the neighborhood and has a special taste. According to the rules, the second day of the sixth lunar month is a summer break, one month before and one month after. First, the newlyweds send rice cakes back to their mother-in-law's home to visit their mother-in-law. The daughter lives in her mother's home for 2-4 days, and then they send them back to her mother-in-law's home for the summer vacation, and give them rice flowers and other gifts. There are two meanings in making rice flowers in summer: one is that there are few farming activities from small summer to big summer, which is the best time for newlyweds to rest; the other is that newly married women have physiological changes, so they should also take proper summer rest.
