Jiaochuan street is located in the western suburb of Zhenhai District, adjacent to Zhaobaoshan street in the East, Huibieyang in the north, Shupu Town, Luotuo street and Zhuangshi street in the west, and Yongjiang in the south. It was separated from the former Chengguan town in September 2001 and worked with Zhenhai Economic Development Zone in September 2006. With a total area of 40.06 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 8 communities and 12 administrative villages, with a total population of 103000 (2010). The sub district office is temporarily located in Shengli Road, about 18 kilometers away from the city center.

Historical evolution
It is divided from the original Chengguan town and named after the Jiaolong River in Haikou town. It was formerly known as Linjiang Township and Yufan town. Chengguan was called Jiakou in ancient times, also known as Jiaochuan, which was generally called Zhenhai. It was located in the east of the East China Sea in the Qin and Han Dynasties. Military and political construction began in the southern and Northern Dynasties. According to the book of the Southern Qi Dynasty, Emperor Wu had set up a garrison at Jiakou in 486. In 809, Wanghai town was set up. In the fourth year of qianning period (897), when Qian Yuan occupied Wu and Yue, Jinghai Town was built as Jinghai Town. In the third year of Kaiping (909), Wanghai county was set up here, but Dinghai county has not been changed. Chengxiang District is located in shanghuli of Qingquan Township in Song Dynasty. Jiading eight years (1215) for 19 square city. In the Ming Dynasty, it was qingquanli, Dongguan Township, with 4 streets and 22 alleys under its jurisdiction. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was still Dongguan township. The city outline was divided into four corners: East, South, West and North. The alleys followed the Ming system. At that time, there were four cities: Xiaonanmen, dananmen, xiaoximen and gulouqian. After the township system was rebuilt in 1930, it belonged to the first district, with 11 towns including Nanxun, Zhenyuan, Qingchuan, xiangchendong, xiangchenxi, Hengjie, shangzi, Ziyin, Gulou, Chaozong and Wuning. After 1934, it belonged to the office of the eastern administrative region, and was the four towns of Nanxun, Xiangchen, Chaozong and Wuning, with Baojia under it. In July 1940, the town of Wuning was burned by the Japanese invaders. In 1946, Chaozong town was divided into Nanxun town and Xiangchen town. In October of this year, Nanxun and Xiangchen merged into Jiaochuan Town, which has 13 baos and 195 Jias under its jurisdiction. He was liberated on May 26, 1949 and renamed Chengguan town in September. It was renamed Chengguan District in November 1952 and Chengguan town in February 1956. After October 1958, Zhenhai county was divided into Ningbo City and set up Chengguan Town People's commune. In July 1959, it was changed into Zhenhai people's commune. In November 1961, it was called Zhenhai town. In early 1963, the county and city were divided into Chengguan Town People's commune. In December 1980, it was renamed Chengguan town again. In October 1985, the organizational system of Zhenhai county was abolished and divided into Zhenhai and Beilun districts. Chengguan town is still the seat of Zhenhai District government. In May 1992, the former Chengguan Town, Yufan town and Linjiang Township merged into the new Chengguan town. In 2001, Chengguan Town (Lanshan and Wantang villages merged into Shupu town) was abolished, and Zhaobaoshan street and Jiaochuan street were established.
