Chenjiagang Town, subordinate to Xiangshui County, Jiangsu Province, is a key town in Jiangsu Province and one hundred famous towns in Jiangsu Province.
Chenjiagang town is located in the northeast of Xiangshui County, on the South Bank of Guanhe estuary. The town has 13 villages and 6 neighborhood committees, covering an area of 85.18 square kilometers (2017), with a total population of 59213 (2017). Chenjiagang town is adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the East and Guanhe River in the north, formerly known as "Chenjiagang". Founded in 1929, the town is rich in products. Four gill perch is famous at home and abroad with beautiful scenery. The eight sceneries of Guanhe River and Kaishan island are unique. It is a modern port town, a strong economic town, an important military town and a big tourist town.

Historical evolution
In 1929, Chenjiagang town was established. In October 1940, it belonged to the Fifth District of Lianshui County, zhuobian District Office of Lianzi. In August 1945, Chengang city was established. In June 1946, Chengang city was abolished. Qiaodong was assigned to Huaibei salt special zone of xinhailian City, named Chengang town. To the west, Liugui was assigned to Nanhe district. In 1958, it belonged to new Hailian city. In January 1959, it was put under the jurisdiction of Binhai County; on the 9th of the same month, Chengang people's commune was established. In February 1965, Chengang town was established. In April 1966, Xiangshui county was established to the north of Zhongshan River in Binhai County, and Chengang belonged to Xiangshui county. In March 2000, Chengang town and Gangnan Township merged to form Chenjiagang town. In June 2001, Haianji township was abolished and its jurisdiction was merged into Chenjiagang town.

Revolutionary history
Chenjiagang is a land full of martyrs' blood. In the early morning of March 1, 1939, the Japanese invaders forcibly landed from mangniu village in the territory, killed nearly 1000 local Anti Japanese soldiers and civilians, and then went south, encroaching on a large area of Northern Jiangsu and killing countless Anti Japanese soldiers and civilians. On May 3, 1943, general Zhang Aiping, who was then the deputy division commander of the third division of the New Fourth Army, led the "four in and three out" to liberate Chenjiagang and annihilate the Japanese puppet army stationed in Chenjiagang, thus giving the people of Chenjiagang a new life.
