Louwang town

Louwang town is located in the western border of Yancheng City, at the junction of Xinghua, Baoying, Jianhu and Yandu counties (cities). It is a millennium old town with a long history and traditional culture. The town has a total area of 127.23 square kilometers (in 2017), a cultivated area of 74800 mu, a total population of 46443 people (in 2017), under the jurisdiction of 24 villages (residents) and 132 villager groups. Around 1369 A.D., a large number of immigrants from changmen area of Suzhou moved to Yancheng for reclamation (known as "hongwuqusan" among the people). Wang guisan's family in Sanba of Suzhou was moved to fanwuzhuang, which is the ancestor of Wang's genealogy. After that, Wang's family flourished and many officials came out, most of them were big families. In order to show the prosperity of Wang's clan, fan Wuzhuang was changed to Lou Wangzhuang. The meaning of "Lou" is "Gao Yuan" and "Shang Shang".

General situation

Louwang town belongs to Yandu District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the west of Yancheng City. The people's Government of Louwang town is located in the open road of Louwang, 30 kilometers to the west of the city government. It is bounded by qiuduo River and Xuefu town in the East, Longgang Town in the south, Baoying County in the West and Yanhe town in Jianhu County in the north. It is an ancient town with a long history and traditional culture. It is known as "the land of fish and rice", "the land of casting" and "the land of folk dance". Louwang township was established in 1957 and named after Louwang village. It was designated as Louwang people's commune in 1958. Cultural history

Louwang has a rich cultural heritage. It used to be the habitat of Zhu Sheng, the founder of the Ming Dynasty and a college student of the Imperial Academy, and the second hometown of Mingshan master, a famous monk. Transportation and logistics

Louwang's transportation is very convenient. Su 331 Provincial Road (Yanjin national defense highway) passes through the territory, only 30 kilometers away from Yancheng airport and Xinchang railway.
