Chapter 66 of a dream of Red Mansions written by Cao Xueqin in Qing Dynasty: "people didn't threaten him. It was he who wanted to be short-sighted."

Idiom usage

It refers to self destruction. The seventh chapter of "the change of emotions" says: "in a Nan, I had to seek short-sightedness for many times, but I couldn't help thinking about the kindness of my mother's upbringing, and I didn't know the whereabouts of Bai Feng, so I delayed and didn't make up my mind." Lu Xun's new stories: picking Wei: "the king's car went all the way to Lutai, found the place where King Zhou wanted to be short-sighted, and shot three arrows."

Idiom story

Jia Lian listens to third sister you and meets Xue pan and Liu Xianglian on business. Jia Lian strongly recommends third sister you to Liu Xianglian. Xue pan also advocates getting closer. Liu Xianglian agrees with the marriage and asks Jia lian to bring it back with a gift. A few months later, Liu Xianglian heard that third sister you was having an affair with her brother-in-law and was going to leave her family. Third sister you found fault and died on the spot, and Liu Xianglian became a monk.
