Like plough and bird work
Xiang Geng niaoyun is a Chinese idiom. The Pinyin is Xi à NGG à ngni à oy ú n, which means that it is said that Shun died of Cangwu, and the elephant worked for it; Yu buried Kuaiji, and the bird worked for it. Later, it is used to describe the simple folk custom, which is the legacy of the Shun Yu era. It comes from selected works, Zuo Si's Wu Du Fu.
The origin of Idioms
In selected works, Zuo Si's Wu Du Fu: "it's like farming and bird's work, and it's natural." Li Shan quoted yuejueshu: "when Shun died in Cangwu, it was like ploughing for him; when Yu was buried in Kuaiji, it was like birds working for him." In a word, the tiller is like a bird, while the cultivator is like a bird.
