Revolutionary deeds
The true news collected in the impression of the northwest by foreign journalists effectively frustrated the Kuomintang's attempt to distort and slander the positive image of the Communist Party of China's active resistance against Japan, and truly disclosed to the outside world the situation of China's "red zone", the truth of the Xi'an Incident and the Communist Party of China's Anti Japanese stand, which made the Communist Party of China who insisted on the Anti Japanese war in Northern Shaanxi win the recognition of the international community And broad support. Under the influence of this book, thousands of patriotic and progressive young people, like pilgrims, rushed to Yan'an from all parts of the motherland to fight against Japan.
Intelligent and patriotic students in western Liaoning
On October 2, 1912, Li Huachun was born in erdaohezi village, Daxing Township, Lianshan District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. Li Huachun's father, Li De, was born to the Duan family and had five brothers and sisters. He received a good education since childhood. As a child, he studied in a private school in the village. Later, he was sent by his father to junior high school of Yuxian middle school in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. In 1928, he was admitted to senior high school of Tongze middle school in Fengtian (now Shenyang). In 1931, he was admitted to English major of Northeast University. After the September 18th Incident, Northeastern University moved to Peking, and Li Huachun went to Peking to continue his studies. In his hometown in Northeast China, he heard and witnessed the barbaric acts of the Japanese invaders. During his schooling, he wrote many letters to his uncle, brother Li Xiaochun, and nephew Li zongrun that "a slave is better than a dog". He mobilized them to leave their hometown to study and participate in the revolution as soon as possible. Under his influence, Li Xiaochun and Li zongrun came to Beiping and embarked on the revolutionary road. In 1933, after studying English for two years, Li Huachun felt that learning English could only serve as a teacher, and could not do anything to change the current situation of the country, so he changed to politics. At school, Li Huachun studied hard and was good at giving speeches. He had strong organizational ability. At the same time, he also accepted many progressive revolutionary ideas.
Arouse the enthusiasm of the people
In the summer of 1935, Li Huachun graduated from the Department of political science of Northeastern University and became the founder of Oriental Express, which was once the acting president of Northeastern University. He once participated in the compilation of diplomatic dictionary. He took part in the "12.9" student movement in Peking and opposed the Japanese invasion of North China and the non resistance policy of the Kuomintang government. After that, under the leadership of the Northeast Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, Li Huachun, together with his colleagues, organized the Northeast Cultural Association to carry out the propaganda work of Anti Japanese and national salvation. Li Huachun joined the Communist Party of China after being introduced by Yu Yifu, member of the Standing Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Northeast National Salvation Association. In the autumn of 1936, American journalist Edgar Snow returned to Beiping after his visit to northern Shaanxi. He handed some of the news reports to Mr. Wang Fushi. He immediately asked Guo Da, Li Fang and Li Huachun to translate them. Li Huachun is responsible for the translation of one of the chapters and the distribution of the book. In April 1937, impressions of the northwest by foreign journalists was published. The publication of this book is six months earlier than the English version of "red star shining on China" published by golanz publishing company and ten months earlier than the Chinese version of "journey to the west" translated by Hu Yuzhi and others. Although the book was banned by the Kuomintang government, it still became the "fire" of the revolution, as if radiating the light of truth in the dark. As Helen Snow commented, "this is a real cooperation between the United States and China. It's like a lightning strike in China, which wakes people up." In December 1936, Li Huachun joined the association of saving the nation from all walks of life in Lvping, Northeast China, and became the main leader of the Alumni Association of Northeast University. From February 15 to 22, 1937, the Third Plenary Session of the Fifth Central Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang was held in Nanjing. More than 10 representatives, such as Li Huachun and Guan Zijian, were sent by the "Eastern Union" to petition the Nanjing government with more than 1700 signatures of people from all walks of life in the northeast. They put forward a series of just propositions, such as "stop the civil war", "implement political democracy" and "Kuomintang communist cooperation against Japan", which effectively promoted the second cooperation and anti Japanese war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party The formation of the Anti Japanese national united front.
Outstanding leadership of the joint venture movement
after the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, China's coastal cities were successively occupied by the Japanese army, and the Anti Japanese base areas and the rear areas were short of industrial products. In 1938, international friends Louis Ailey, Edgar Snow, Helen Snow and patriotic Hu Yuzhi initiated the establishment of the China Industrial Cooperation Association, aiming to organize the unemployed workers, establish industrial production cooperatives, integrate relief into production, support military supplies and civilian use, and support the Anti Japanese war. Kuomintang, Communist Party and democratic personages took part in the leadership of the China Federation of industry and commerce. After the establishment of Gonghe office in Xi'an, 27 year old Li Huachun was appointed as the director of the office and set up more than 10 cooperative units. The production work was carried out vigorously soon. In the summer of 1939, Li Huachun was transferred to the director of Hanzhong office. His salary is very low, living conditions are difficult, but still with high spirits, perseverance, to promote the development of the movement in Hanzhong. Less than six months after its establishment, the Institute has set up 51 cooperatives to manufacture cotton, silk, leather, ink, paper, soap, candles, machinery and machine parts, glass, woven fabrics, clothes, cosmetics and other necessities in urgent need. Under the leadership of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Li Huachun, an underground member of the CPC, actively publicized the CPC's policies and propositions among the masses, organized the working people to produce and save themselves, and timely transported the produced materials to the Northern Shaanxi base. The vigorous development of Hanzhong industrial cooperation movement and its strong support for the Anti Japanese War and Northern Shaanxi led and affected the promotion of the national industrial cooperation movement, boosted the confidence of the army and the people in the Anti Japanese War, and became a model of the national industrial cooperation movement. However, it also attracted the attention of Kuomintang agents. At first, they tried hard and soft on Li Huachun, but they all failed. Later, they seized a large amount of materials from Hanzhong Gonghe without reason. Li Huachun argued for it and recovered all the materials. On the morning of July 1, 1940, Li Huachun was kidnapped by KMT agents as soon as he left the house. Then he was buried alive in a sack on the Bank of the Han River in the south of Hanzhong City. He was 29 years old. In 1953, Li Huachun was posthumously awarded as a revolutionary martyr.
