Zhu Tianmin, also known as niange, was born on February 26, 1917 in Haining, Zhejiang Province, China. From 1930 to 1936, he worked as an apprentice photographer in Zhejiang Pinghu Jinghua photo studio. In order to broaden his horizons and pursue further study, he went to Shanghai and worked as a photographer in Wanshi, qiaoshi (foreign businessman), Guohua and other photo studios.
Life of the characters
In 1941, Mr. Zhu Tianmin founded the Shanghai Vientiane photo studio. He was in charge of photography. He kept improving his technology, attached importance to production and built up his reputation with high quality. In 1946, he successively opened the second and third Vientiane photo studios in Shanghai Hongkou and Nanjing West Road, and served as the general manager. In the career of continuous innovation, created a distinctive "three style photo" and "beautiful photo" and other photography mode, with high quality reputation, popular with the public, since then Vientiane photo studio not only created a unique style in photography art, but also won the reputation of "famous shop". after the founding of new China, Mr. Zhu Tianmin actively developed the style and characteristics of Vientiane photo studio, and his business increased steadily. At the same time, he was elected director member of Shanghai photography trade union. In 1956, he was appointed Deputy Manager of Shanghai Welfare Company by Chen Yi, then mayor of Shanghai; in 1960, he was appointed Deputy Manager of catering service company until he retired in 1984. He has also served as a member of the 5th, 6th and 7th Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the 4th Shanghai Municipal Federation of literary and art circles, a member of the 6th, 7th and 8th Standing Committee of the Shanghai Federation of industry and commerce, a member of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association, and a member of the 6th, 7th and 8th Central Advisory Committee. In 1962, Mr. Zhu Tianmin was rated as one of the first batch of top-grade photographers in China by the Ministry of Commerce; in 1998, he was approved by the domestic trade bureau, and won the first batch of national first-class judges of the national photography industry; in March 2000, he was named by the National Bureau of internal trade, and won the title of the first batch of Chinese photography masters. In 1957, he joined the China Photographers Association and was elected as the director of the Association for four times; in 1984, the Chinese portrait photography association was established, and he served as vice president and later as consultant; in the same year, the Shanghai portrait photography Research Association was established, and he was elected as the chairman and general consultant of the Shanghai Photography Industry Association; in 1985, he was elected as the director of the China Society for elderly photography and the first honorary director of the Chinese overseas Chinese Photography Association . In 1984, China photography correspondence college was established and appointed as a member of the Teaching Committee; in 1989, with the approval of the Ministry of Commerce, China professional portrait photography correspondence school was established in Shanghai and served as the executive vice president. He joined the Chinese Photographic Society of Taiwan in 1997 and the Los Angeles Photographic Society of the United States in 1998.
Artistic achievements
Mr. Zhu Tianmin has been engaged in the art of portrait photography for more than 60 years. In the early 1940s, inspired by the artificial light of cinematography, he reformed the fixed light position of portrait photography in photo studio to mobile light position, confirmed the use of side light position with different face shapes, and was better at shaping the three-dimensional effect of Chinese people's face shapes. After long-term practice in art portrait photography, he gradually formed a dignified style The unique artistic style of dignified and full of color. At the same time, he is good at observation and analysis of life, can correctly grasp the image characteristics, make beautiful modeling judgment, seize the typical moment, and make the work achieve the situation of "both form and spirit". His book "portrait photography Overview" discusses the characteristics of portrait photography by integrating theory with practice. Mr. Zhu Tianmin's photographic works have won many awards, and many of them have been selected into international, national and Shanghai film exhibitions. Mr. Zhu Tianmin has been a member of the selection committee of the first National Portrait Art Photography Exhibition from 1960 to 1995; he has also been a member of the selection committee of the first to the eighth national and Shanghai portrait photography exhibitions; he has also been a member of the evaluation committee of the first, second and third Shanghai International Film Exhibition; he has also been a member of the evaluation committee of China's first ten outstanding portrait photographers. Mr. Zhu Tianmin has also written many articles and papers on photography teaching, published correspondence teaching materials, and served as an organizing and selecting committee member in international, national and Shanghai photography exhibitions for many times. In December 1986, Mr. Zhu Tianmin held the exhibition of Chinese portrait photographer Zhu Tianmin's works in Shanghai Art Museum, with a total of 296 exhibits on display. This is the first portrait photography exhibition in the form of personal exhibition after the liberation of China. Leaders from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Shanghai municipal government, the film industry and the photography industry all attended the ceremony. In 1990, Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House published 6000 volumes of selected works of Zhu Tianmin's portrait photography and selected 84 of his works. Mr. Zhu Tianmin not only has profound artistic attainments and skillful performance skills in the art of portrait photography, but also has research in scenery, still life photography and color photography. Over the past few decades, he has created many excellent photography works, and has also gone to Europe, the United States and other places for photography creation. after entering his old age, Mr. Zhu Tianmin proposed to set up a correspondence school of Chinese professional portrait photography to teach and train photography correspondence, regardless of his age. Over the past few decades, there have been 30 or 40 teachers who have formally worshipped Mr. Zhu Tianmin. Many of them are special effects technicians and first-class technicians. Countless students have been trained by him and have made lifelong contributions to the cultivation of young generation of photography talents. Zhu Tianmin's main works include old painter Zhang Yuguang, art master Liu Haisu and cartoon artist Wan Laiming. "Full of vitality" and "Bai Yang" won the second and third prizes respectively in the third National Portrait Photography Art Exhibition in 1980.
