Zhu Zhifan
Zhu Zhifan (1575-1624), whose name is Yuansheng, was named Lanyu and the master of dingjue. His ancestral home is Jinling. He is a minister, calligrapher and painter of Ming Dynasty. Wanli 23 years (1595) imperial examination champion, the official end of the Ministry of rites right servant, served as an envoy to Korea. After the death of his mother, he did not return to office. He is good at calligraphy, landscape painting and flowers. His works have been handed down from generation to generation, such as Junzi Lin tujuan, and other anthologies.
The plaque "yingenmen" inscribed by Zhu Zhifan for yingenmen of the Korean Dynasty is now in the National Central Museum of South Korea.
Profile
Zhu Zhifan's ancestors lived in Chiping, and later came from Nanjing royal guards. His father, Zhu Yi, was a magistrate. Zhu Zhifan was good at calligraphy and painting since he was a child. He was good at poetry and writing. He passed the examination in the 23rd year of Wanli (1595). He was the first (number one scholar). He was taught to write in the Imperial Academy. He was appointed the Minister of rites and changed the official department.
In 1605, he was sent to Korea as an envoy. He argued with his country's talented people, wrote poems and gave them answers. He was well versed in the right language, and fulfilled his mission. After his mother died, he did not return to office. The imperial court repeatedly called him to resign.
He died in 1624 at the age of 69. The foreword of dying: "life is formed when it is gathered together, and becomes Qi when it is scattered. It's just a matter of coming and going.". He presented it to the Minister of rites. There is still Zhu Zhuangyuan Lane in Nanjing.
Personal achievement
The painting of fan Gong, with the charm of bamboo and stone and Dongpo, is similar to that of Mi Fu and others. He also works calligraphy. He imitates Zhao Mengfu in real and running calligraphy. He can write thousands of words every day with the help of Yan Zhenqing and Wen Zhengming. During his diplomatic mission to Korea, the Koreans invited him to paint and write with ginseng and mink as gifts. He sold all the gifts he got, and bought paintings, calligraphy and ancient utensils. His collection is very rich. In 1620, the first year of Taichang (1620), he wrote the painting of Junzi forest, which is now stored in the Palace Museum. He has written four volumes of "making contributions to Korea", "jishengshi", "luohuashi" and "nanhuanzashu".
