In his early years, the scientific examination was not smooth, but later he had no intention of official career. He studied with Lu benzhong and Han Ju of Jiangxi poetry school, and wrote back and forth with Zhu Xi and Zhang Xi. Zhang Xiaoxiang, the sheriff, and Liu Gong, the secret envoy of Shu, once recommended it to the imperial court, but Zeng Jili should not. Lu benzhong called his "learning has its origin". During the Shaoxing period, he sang in harmony with Lu You, and Lu You called him "the plain and simple prose". His works include the Analects of Confucius, the miscellaneous works of chuanzhai (Volume I), the letters of teachers and friends of chuanzhai (Volume II), and the poetry of chuanzhai (Volume I). There is a volume of "boat Zhai collection" in the 125 volumes of the present Siku edition of the collection of famous sages of the Song Dynasty.
