Cao Yun, with the name Tingjian, was born in Dangtu (now Anhui). Gaozong Shaoxing five years (1135) Jinshi (Qing Qianlong "Dangtu County annals" Volume 17).
Life
Attached to Qin Hui, he was appointed as an official by imperial edict. He served as a royal censor in the palace. He went out to know Quzhou, set up an envoy for Sichuan's pacification and also knew Chengdu's government, and promoted the Taiping Xingguo palace in Jiangzhou. When Hui died, he took over his position. See volumes 156, 162 and 1700 of the chronicles of Jianyan.
