Changren, a monk, has a common surname of Jiao.
After his parents died, he sent home to Huayan nunnery in Laoshan. When he was older, he went to Beijing to receive precepts. Because he was a scholar, celebrities vied with each other and traveled around for many years. Later, he returned to Huayan nunnery of Laoshan for a long time in the reign of Emperor Guangxu. Monk Changren has a clear face, a natural and unrestrained manner, a gentle and quiet manner, and a Confucian demeanor. In addition to Zen, he entertained himself with poems and wrote the draft of poems in Shanju. When I sit on the night of death, I still write poems and couplets calmly.
