Xu Deng, a native of central Fujian, was originally a woman, disguised as a man. When you meet a stranger on the top of Shao Mu Niu mountain, you will get the magic. Sometimes Zhao Bing of Dongyang also got the art of immortality. When he met Gaogai mountain, he tried every way he could. If he could ascend the mountain, he would stop water flowing. He would spray wine on the trees and turn into flowers. There are also Zhuang Junping, who lives in Fuzhou. People also doubt his immortal cloud. It was a time of war, when infectious diseases and epidemics were spreading everywhere. Xu Deng and Zhao Bing met for the first time in wushangxi, east of Yiwu county. They shared the same interests and agreed to treat people with their own prescriptions. Then he said to the other party, "now that we are all like-minded people, we might as well show our abilities." So Xu Deng used the forbidden method to the stream in front of him, making the stream unable to flow; Zhao Bing then applied the forbidden method to the dead trees, and the dead trees immediately sprouted. The two of them looked at each other and laughed. They walked together and used Taoism to cure diseases and help others.
details
Xu Deng was older than Zhao Bing, who treated him as a master. They pay great attention to light and frugal style. In the worship of gods, only scoop some Dongliu water instead of wine, cut some mulberry white skin to use as preserved fruit. But they are very effective in treating diseases. None of the diseases that they have treated with forbidden surgery has not been cured.
Later, Xu Deng died. Zhao Bing then went eastward to Zhang'an County in Kuaiji county. The people there don't know who he is. On purpose, he boarded the thatched cottage where he lived and set up a tripod (ancient tripod pot) on the roof to cook and eat. The owner of the house was surprised and scared, but Zhao Bing just ignored him with a smile. After a while, the things were cooked, but the thatched cottage was not damaged or deformed. There was another time when Zhao Bing wanted to cross the river, but the rowers were not willing to ferry him. Then he put up a heavy curtain and sat down in it, whistling, the wind rising, the river running in disorder, and he had already crossed the river. The local people are convinced of him and treat him as a God.
Zhao Bing was not only famous at that time because he was good at using forbidden techniques, but also became famous in later generations. Ge Hong of the Jin Dynasty said that when he banned people, people couldn't stand up; when he banned tigers, tigers would lie on the ground and "bow their heads and close their eyes" and let people bind them; he could also knock big iron nails into wooden pillars one foot deep and blow at them again, and the iron nails would shoot out of the pillars like arrows. In Yiyuan, it is also said that when he blows his breath into a basin of water, fish and dragons appear in the water.
Because Zhao Bing treated diseases with superb medical skills, subdued people with magical skills, and saved the world, more and more people around him followed him, which caused the psychological imbalance of Zhang'an county magistrate. Finally, he found an excuse to "confuse the people" and arrested and killed him. His death not only did not make people forget him, but local people built a ancestral hall for him in the east of Yongkang County, Wuzhou, commonly known as "Zhao Hou Temple", so that people who worship and miss him can go to worship him and ask for his protection at any time. It is rare in history that people spontaneously build ancestral halls for someone.
Zhao Bing used the method of forbidding surgery to treat diseases, and later spread it in the Jiangnan generation under the name of "Zhao Hou's forbidding method". What is particularly interesting is that, according to the notes in the book of the later Han Dynasty, after so many years, mosquitoes, Simulium and other flying insects never flew to his ancestral hall.
