Zhang Sheng (488-549), a native of Wuxian county (now Suzhou), was born in Wujun county. Liang Minister of the Southern Dynasty, the son of Zhenbei General Zhang Ji.

In the third year of the Qing Dynasty (549), he resisted Hou Jing's rebellion and was killed in Chengpo. He was 62 years old. Emperor Liang Yuan ascended the throne and presented the three divisions of Shizhong, Zhongwei general and Kaifu Yitong with a posthumous title of loyalty.

At that time, Shaoling King (Xiao Zizhen) ran eastward to Qiantang. Hearing of it, he sent someone to give Zhang Sheng the title of general Zhengdong, adding two thousand stones to his rank. Liu Shenmao broke through Yixing and sent an envoy to Zhang Sheng to say, "if you have come down early, you should get along with the county and get more rewards." Zhang Sheng ordered his envoys to be beheaded, and still sent his commander Wang Xiong to fight against Liu Shenmao. Liu Shenmao retreated. When Hou Jing heard that Shenmao was defeated, he sent his army, Hou Zijian, to help Liu Shenmao attack Zhang Sheng. Fan zhilang, the commander of Zhang Sheng's army, refused to fight in the west of the county. He was defeated by Liu Shenmao and retired. The thief rode on the fence and burned it.
