Since childhood, he has been intelligent and steady, learned a lot, and can write thousands of words in a short time. When he was 16 years old, he was praised as "unique in Jiangzuo" by gaoku, the governor of Suzhou. He is good at poetry and ancient prose, especially Jinggong parallel prose, with fresh and unique style. He learned from Zhu YIZUN and was appreciated by Zhu YIZUN, Wang Wan and Han Peng. in 1690, he was the chief of the rural examination in Gengwu. After he won the examination, his reputation spread far and wide. Many people from all over the world came to visit him. Zhang was also diligent in receiving and rewarding him, and often talked with visitors about classics and arts. At this time, Li Fu was very humble and visited Suzhou. Zhang Da was very valued by Li Fu. He was rewarded and cultivated unconventionally and became a great Confucian in the future. During this period, song Luo, governor of Jiangsu Province, listed Zhang Da Shou's poems as one of the "fifteen sons of Jiangzuo". In 1707, Emperor Kangxi visited the South and was called into the imperial boat to compose poems, which was appreciated by Emperor Kangxi. He was also admitted to the compilation Hall of "imperial selection of poems of song, Jin, yuan and Ming Dynasties" and served as a selection officer. in 1709, the 184th member of the third class in the Department of Ugliness came from the same Jinshi family. He was selected to be a good scholar in the Imperial Academy. After entering the Imperial Academy, he attracted more students and had great ambition. He once wrote: "the prosperity of the world depends on talents, and good people and gentlemen are the foundation of the country. When a person ascends the court, he will be happy for fear that he will not be able to use it up; when a poor man is out of his place, he will be worried and take responsibility for himself. Since the birth of all the people to Tongji, not for one family, but for the growth and decline of the world's Qi On April 9, 1712, Kangxi's fifty-one year, he left the Imperial Academy for a review. In May of 1720, he was appointed the official examiner of Sichuan provincial examination. On the first day of November, he was appointed governor of Guizhou. After taking office, he selected talents, built academies, purchased Yitian, and taught Guizhou scholars to read classics and history, which changed the folk custom. Several hundred people were implicated in a case in Dushan. Zhang Dazhou realized that he had been wronged and released from prison to Chen Mingshi. The people of Dushan were grateful to Zhang Dazhou for drawing his portrait. in 1723, the first year of Yongzheng reign, the term of Guizhou academic and political office expired. Emperor Yongzheng learned that Zhang had a good reputation and ordered him to stay in office for another three years on September 23. He died in office shortly after, sixty-four years old.

Zhang Da Shou's father is Zhang qingsun, who raised a family in the 11th year of Shunzhi. Another brother, Zhang Shiqi, was the deputy governor of Yongxin County in Jiangxi Province in the 23rd year of Kangxi. Zhu YIZUN, Wang Wan and Han Peng are Zhang's teachers.
