Zhang wudian, a native of Qinshui, is the Minister of the military department of Wanli, his son Zhang Quan (Minister of the military department of Taichang), his daughter-in-law Huo's, his granddaughter Zhang Fengyi (heroine of the anti Qing Dynasty in the late Ming Dynasty), and sun Zhang Daojun (commander of Jin affairs).
Zhang wudian (1555-1626) is a native of douzhuang village in Qinshui county. Ming Wanli 20 years (1592) Jinshi, gave the pedestrian Secretary pedestrian, then elected to the Ministry of household Jiangxi division chief. In 1601, he was in charge of the granary in Tianjin, and soon became a member of wailang. In 1605, he served as the Chief Secretary of Shandong Province and visited Jinan road. During this period, wudian used his leisure time to design a measuring instrument to survey the height of Mount Tai. In 1611, Zhang wudian measured more than 4300 measuring points, and finally successfully measured that "the distance between the slopes of Mount Tai is 14 Li and more than 80 steps, and the vertical height of Mount Tai is 368.34 Zhang." In the Ming Dynasty, each foot was about 0.32 meters and 1182.3 meters apart. If Zhang wudian measured from Hongmen palace, the gate of Mount Tai at that time, plus 250 meters of sea level, the total was 1482.3 meters, which is very close to the accurate data of 1524 meters above sea level of Mount Tai today. After Zhang wudian successfully completed the survey, he wrote the record of Taishan Daoli, which left precious first-hand information for later generations. In the first year of Tianqi (1621), he served as Shaoqing of Taipu temple, and in the second year, he served as Zhengqing of Dali temple in Nanjing. In 1623, he was promoted to minister of the Ministry of war.
