Sun Mou (1019-1084) was born in Wuxing (now Huzhou, Zhejiang Province) with a name of Chu and Zhengzhi. Renzongqingli, huangyoujian, Wang Anshi and Zeng Gongyou.

In his early years, he repeatedly failed to win the imperial examinations. His mother died and vowed not to be an official. He lived in Jianghuai and was not recommended. In 1080, he became an official except tongzhilang. He died in seven years and was sixty-six years old. Volume 150 of song Wenjian and volume 458 of song history are both handed down.
