Yao Yuexiang
Yao Yuexiang, a Ming Dynasty official.
Yao Yuexiang is the ancestor of the Yao family in western Guangdong. He was born in a scholarly family. At the age of seven, he passed the six classics of Dayi. At the age of ten, he was born in Zhonggeng, Wu Keju, and at the age of seventeen, he was born in Dingchou (1577). He joined Shen Maoxue in the list and was later elected as a scholar of Hanlin Academy. He once served as a scholar in Jiangxi Province, encouraged and helped Tang Xianzu and others to take part in the imperial examination to cultivate talents for the country. Yao Yuexiang has profound knowledge, quick thinking, eloquence, poetry, ancient prose, and thousands of words. Emperor Wanli gave him "Ganoderma lucidum of the southern kingdom", which was called "child prodigy" at that time. All his life, he abided by etiquette and law, was upright and righteous, and was deeply respected by later generations. He wrote a copy of xuanzhu Ji, which spread to southern Guangdong, and was still read by some modern poets. The 37th volume of Gaozhou capital records its events, which is well-known today.
