Life
In 2002, Xia Yin left the post doctoral program of Otolaryngology Head and neck surgery of Capital Medical University, and formally joined otolaryngology head and neck surgery of Beijing Tongren Hospital. Under the leadership of his tutor Han Demin, he began to focus on the interdisciplinary subject of lateral skull base surgery. At present, we focus on the diagnosis and treatment of acoustic neuroma, glomus jugulare tumor, middle ear cancer and other side skull base tumors, as well as facial paralysis, vertigo, otosclerosis and other difficult ear diseases. We have accumulated rich experience in various approaches of acoustic neuroma resection, subtemporal fossa approach glomus jugulare tumor resection, temporal bone subtotal resection and other side skull base surgery. in order to accelerate the development of skull base surgery in Beijing Tongren Hospital, President Han Demin specially arranged Xia Yin to be a visiting scholar in 2006 at the house Institute of the University of Southern California, a famous otology center in the United States, and in 2007 at the Fisch otology center of the University of Zurich in Switzerland, a famous otology center in Europe. Through contact with the world's top skull base surgical diagnosis and treatment technology, Xia Yin found many mysteries and gained a lot. He was also favored by Professor Fisch, who is known as "the father of skull base surgery in the world". Professor Fisch paid special attention to Xia Yin's study. From theory to practice, he preached and taught him business hand in hand, which made Xia Yin quickly understand and master many advanced concepts and technologies. After returning to China, Beijing Tongren Hospital set up a skull base surgery team, including experts in otoneurosurgery, head and neck surgery, brain surgery, maxillofacial surgery, Radiology, clinical audiology and other disciplines. They consulted regularly every week to discuss the diagnosis of skull base diseases, and jointly completed skull base tumor surgery, which achieved good results.
