Zhou Tingyong (1482-1534), Zixian, Baya, was born in Dongshan, Huarong, Hunan Province. Ming Zhengde six years (1511) Jinshi, the official to Jiangxi envoys. The book Ba Ya Ji has been published. Sun Yi (1507-1556), a famous litterateur in Ming Dynasty, wrote the biography of Ba Ya Zhou and kept his collection of Dongting fishermen.
Zhou court is upright, arrogant, incorrupt and forthright in his character. He said, "if you plant something, it will be brilliant and bright. If you write something, you will be famous in the world. If you manage something, you will be able to manage the country and eat something for a while." Later, he was impeached by his colleagues and returned to his hometown. He died at the age of 53.
The year of his birth and death is unknown, and he lived around the beginning of Jiajing, Emperor Shizong of Ming Dynasty. Zhengde sixth year (AD 1511) Jinshi. The official went to Jiangxi as an inspector. Tingyong has 13 volumes of Baya collection, and Siku Zongmu is popular in the world.
