Wu bangzuo
Wu bangzuo was a famous copper casting craftsman in Xuande. His ancestral home is Weifang, Shandong Province. The birth and death are unknown.
Personage introduction
Bonzo is an expert craftsman. He is the supervisor of smelting and casting Xuande furnace. He is also the designer of furnace type, style and color. Bonzo made a large number of bronzes for the ancestral temple and social hall of the court. At the same time, he also made "private" bronzes for sale. All of them are exquisite and precious to the world.
At the same time with Bonzo, there were Gao's and Qixian's masters who supervised the production and started casting copper furnaces themselves.
Character achievement
Wu bangzuo's three legged copper stove with elephant ears is stored in the Palace Museum. It is dark green and has no ornamentation. It looks like a piece of glazed song kiln porcelain. It is shining and is cast with exquisite craftsmanship. Another copper inlaid gold piece animal ear bottle, pure copper, is inlaid with gold pieces all over the body, with double animal living ring ears on the shoulder, and the bottom is engraved with the inscription "made by Wu bangzuo" in Yangwen. These two bronzes are the representative works of Bonzo.
