Political views
We oppose "Taiwan independence, constitutional referendum" and arms purchase. He is good at crisis management research and has a long history with the Taiwan military. It holds that Taiwan should not join TMD, but should develop deterrence weapons and advocate "offensive defense"; it holds that only by strengthening cross-strait consultation and establishing a mechanism of mutual trust can real "national security" be realized; it hopes that cross-strait relations will develop from "uncertain" to "win-win" situation.
Hometown feelings
Ding Shouzhong, a doctor of international politics studying in the United States, is the deputy executive director of the central policy committee of the Kuomintang. He actively advocated the implementation of "three links" and the development of cross-strait economy. In the 1990s, he served as chairman of the cross strait development research foundation.
On April 8, 2005, Ding Shouzhong returned to his hometown Yiwu for the second time. In the process of seeking cross-strait development, he went to Yiwu to worship his ancestors.
Hometown feelings that will never be forgotten
Ding Shouzhong rushed to Daling village, Niansanli street, Yiwu City to find his roots, ask his ancestors and worship them.
What he saw and heard in his hometown made Ding Shouzhong feel deeply. As the car drove through the spacious mall avenue to the direction of twenty-three Li, Ding Shouzhong looked at the busy scene of high-rise buildings and traffic along the way and said with emotion to his entourage that the development and change of his hometown are very fast.
On the way back to the village, Ding Shouzhong met villagers who came to greet him from time to time. The greetings from his hometown made Ding Shou's center deeply moved. As he was about to leave the village, an elder in the village held Ding Shouzhong's hands and said in a strong Yiwu dialect, "come back and have a look in the future!" When the car started, Ding Shouzhong waved frequently and his eyes were moist. Keep in mind the great interests of the nation
Because of his father's words and deeds, Ding Shouzhong's national concept is particularly strong. While studying for a doctorate in international politics at the Fletcher Institute of foreign affairs and law at Harvard University in the United States, Ding Shouzhong competed with his classmates from other countries for their lessons and grades. During the six years of studying for a doctor's degree, Ding Shouzhong learned a truth from all kinds of situations abroad: only when the country is rich and the people are strong, can the people hold their heads high and compete on the world stage.
Six years later, Ding Shouzhong, who won his doctorate, returned to Taiwan as an associate professor in the Department of political science at Taiwan University and the editorial writer of several newspapers. When Ding Shouzhong was 35 years old, he entered Taiwan politics as a scholar.
Advocating "three links" across the Straits
For more than 10 years, Ding Shouzhong has been acting as a scholar and a sharp political questioner. He has the courage to reflect public opinion and actively participated in putting forward a number of public policies and livelihood bills. He has become a pivotal role in Taiwan's political arena.
According to Ding Shouzhong's analysis, Taiwan's economic development at this stage is at a low ebb. How to promote cross-strait economic and trade development is the key to solving Taiwan's economic problems. The mainland has a huge trade market, good investment environment and policy support. In recent years, a considerable number of Taiwan manufacturers have moved to the mainland to carry out production and trade exchanges, which is also a major trend of cross-strait economic development.
