In the past, when Chen Shui Bian ran for mayor of Taipei, it was reported that he went to Macao to buy a spring festival. Wu Shuzhen also showed women's possessiveness in marriage. Wu Shuzhen once said“

political life
Wu Shuzhen was born into a wealthy family. He studied in Zeng Wen middle school, studied in Taipei University when he was in University, and met Chen Shui Bian at the student union in Beijing. Later, regardless of his father's opposition, he married Chen Shui Bian, who was still a poor boy at that time.
He married Chen Shui Bian in Taipei on February 20, 1975. The witness was Weng Yuesheng, Chen Shui Bian's professor at that time.
On November 18, 1985, when she was out thanking Chen Shui Bian for failing to be elected mayor of Tainan, Wu Shuzhen was hit by a lorry that rushed out of the lane. The lorry was driven by Zhang Rongcai. Since then, her lower body has been paralyzed and she has to rely on a wheelchair all her life. Chen Shui Bian has always referred to this as a political accident.
In 1986, Chen Shuibian was jailed for slandering Professor Feng Huxiang of Donghai University in the Penglai Island magazine case. Wu Shuzhen went out on behalf of her husband to run for the public opinion representative of Taiwan, and was elected the seventh (eighth) place. Chen Shui Bian served as his special assistant after he was released from prison.
After the public opinion representative of Taiwan left office, Wu Shuzhen no longer held public office or ran for election, but devoted herself to the role of political figure's wife.
Madame route
In 1952, Wu Shuzhen was born into a wealthy family in Matou District, Tainan City. But no one thought that such a rich woman would resolutely combine with Chen Shui Bian, the son of the "third class tenant farmer" in the future. In his freshman year, Chen Shui Bian met fellow townsman Wu Shuzhen when he participated in social activities. In 1975, despite the strong opposition of her parents, Wu Shuzhen married him and led Chen Shuibian on the political road. After the "Meili Island incident" in 1979, someone found Chen Shui Bian and hoped that he could serve as a defense lawyer. Chen Shui Bian hesitated. Wu Shu Zhen encouraged him to say, "if you dare not handle such cases, what's the point of being a lawyer?" Since then, Chen Shui Bian has joined the "Meili Island military law trial lawyers group" and started to set foot in the political arena. In September 1985, Chen Shui Bian took part in the election of county magistrate in Tainan and was defeated. After losing the election, Wu Shuzhen was knocked down by a big truck, resulting in hemiplegia.
In June 1986, Chen Shui Bian was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment for the Penglai Island case. In order to enable him to continue to engage in political activities after he was released from prison, Wu Shuzhen, who was then alone with two children, decided to "go out on behalf of her husband" and beat Xie Changting, who had a strong voice, to be elected as a "legislator" with the image of being disabled and determined and constantly striving for self-improvement. In 1998, when Chen Shui Bian ran for reelection as mayor of Taipei, he lost to Ma Ying Jeou. Wu Shuzhen comforted him and said, "it doesn't matter. If we don't want to be mayor, we'll choose the president."! What are you afraid of? "
During the "presidential" election in 2000, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) once shot a campaign advertisement that "he is an iron man in the day, he is tender in the night". In the film, Chen Shui Bian's tender care for his wife for more than ten years has won the sympathy of countless people. In fact, since Wu Shuzhen was disabled, Chen Shui Bian felt sorry for her and obeyed her. Of course, Wu Shuzhen has a big temper, and Chen Shuibian is really afraid of her. Li Ao once revealed that Chen Shui Bian sometimes beat his wife, but often he was beaten instead of his wife. Taiwan media once described their relationship as follows: after the quarrel, Wu Shuzhen threw the photo on the floor, and Chen Shuibian was the one who bowed her head to clean up the mess. Once, on a whim, Chen Shui Bian opened his voice and talked endlessly. Wu Shuzhen said coldly: "sit down for me in a minute." Chen Shui Bian really sat down. Because of this, the island's domestic businessmen all know that taking the "Madame route" is twice the result of the past. According to media reports, as long as Wu Shuzhen nods her head, any official position in the authorities will not be defeated. Someone in the DPP once summed up that "Chen Shui Bian's destiny is to succeed and defeat ah Zhen."
Disputes
What is controversial about Wu Shuzhen is that compared with other first ladies in Taiwan, many incidents of Wu Shuzhen have been questioned by the society. For example, Wu Shuzhen has been corrected by the supervisory court because she did not honestly declare her stock trading income, involved in stock insider trading or fight for SOGO's equity, given special service allowance to "Mrs. Luo" (Luo Chenyun) pushing wheelchair, assigned sergeants to run errands for "Mrs. Luo" and deliberately made mistakes The promotion of Mrs. Luo's spouse as a director of a state-owned enterprise and the case of Chen Zhe. Although the relevant cases have not yet been settled, Wu Shuzhen is more controversial than Zeng Wenhui or Jiang Liang in the past. She has also been heavily bombarded by legislators, which has affected Taiwan people's perception of Chen Shui Bian and the first family. Wu is known as one of Chen Shui Bian's "first wife, Second Secretary and third division", which involves power and money transactions. "Second Secretary" refers to Chen zhe Nan, the former Deputy Secretary General of the Taiwan authorities' staff organization, and Ma Yong Cheng, the former deputy secretary general. "Third division" refers to Lin Zhihao, Chen Shui Bian's family lawyer, Zhang Zhaoshun, an accountant, and Huang Fangyan, a doctor.
In order to recover its reputation, the leader's staff organization of Taiwan authorities announced on April 28, 2006 that the profits from Wu Shuzhen's sale of all her stocks and funds would be donated to charities. DPP and opposition legislators both affirmed Wu Shuzhen's exit fund shares, but the opposition said it would continue to track the responsibility of the first family and other fraud cases.
In addition, at the first graduation ceremony of Taipei University on June 10, 2000, Chen Shui Bian wrote a bachelor's thesis for Ms. Wu Shuzhen, and got the highest score in the history of the Department of land administration. This cheating has not been widely discussed in Taiwan.

On October 2, 2004, Huang kunyan, the B6 edition of Lianhe daily, mentioned in his book that "Guanda may not be educated.". He said that in his graduation speech at Taipei University on June 10, 2001, Chen Shui Bian publicly claimed that his wife, Wu Shuzhen, was responsible for her graduation thesis. As a result, the reaction on the spot was just a burst of laughter and applause, not a burst of consternation, at the "beautiful talk" of the two young children who fell in love.
