Wu Tailai
Wu Tailai, a figure in the Qing Dynasty, was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. He died in the 53rd year of Emperor Gaozong of Qing Dynasty. My grandfather Wu Quan and father Wu Yongyi are both book collectors.
Life of the characters
In 1744, Wu Tailai was appointed as a school official by a deputy Gongsheng. He was a teacher of Susong County. He was talented and elegant. Together with Wang Chang, Wang Mingsheng, Qian Daxin, Zhao Wenzhe, Cao Renhu and Huang Wenlian, he was known as the "seven sons of Wuzhong". In the 25th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1760), he was a Jinshi. After more than two years, he called for an examination and gave the cabinet a letter, but he didn't go to the government. In 1787, he was employed by Bi Yuan as the mountain chief of Guanzhong and Daliang academies. He drank wine and wrote poems with Hong Liangji and Qian Yong, and used to sing peace without empty days. "Sui Chu Yuan" was built in Mudu mountain, with a collection of tens of thousands of books, most of which were in song and Yuan Dynasties. "Biography of Qing history manuscripts" records that "the family has suichu garden, has tens of thousands of books, and has lived for more than ten years.". Later, in order to fight for property, several brothers of his family sent out his books to the bookseller. Tao Zhengxiang, the capital, lived in Wuliu and collected books from Wu family in duohuangchuan.
