Wu Zeyu
Wu Zeyu (1913-1977), a famous philologist and ci writer. He has long been engaged in the teaching and research of Chinese philosophy history, Chinese literature history, Chinese book collection history and ci poetry, as well as the collation and collation of ancient books.
Personal life
Wu Zeyu (1913-1977) was born in Maolin, Jingxian county. He is a master of traditional Chinese culture. He studied at home when he was young. He practiced calligraphy at the age of 4 and poetry at the age of 6. After his parents died, he studied hard for his uncle and was born in Maolin Town, Jing County, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province in 1913. He learned from his family at the age of 4 and recited poetry at the age of 6. At the age of 21, he went to Wuxi to seek advice from famous teacher Chen Yan, who was highly appreciated. After Chen Yan's introduction, he went to Suzhou to meet Zhang Taiyan, a master of traditional Chinese studies. Because of his fluent answers, he was accepted as a student by Zhang and joined Zhang's "traditional Chinese Studies Seminar", specializing in literature, phonology and exegesis. He was greatly influenced by Zhang's academic thoughts and research methods. He studied in the Chinese Department of Shanghai Zhengfeng University. Wu Zeyu devoted all his life to education. In his youth, he taught with Wu Zuxiang at YangZheng primary school in Maolin, his hometown. Later, he was the director of the library of Xiangan salt Affairs Office, a teacher of Hengyang rotary middle school, a professor of Guangdong Chinese Academy of Arts, and a lecturer of Lantian Normal University. During the Anti Japanese War, he successively served as a professor of Nanyue Normal University and Chongqing women's normal university. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he has successively served as a professor of Chinese public school, an associate professor of Southwest Normal University (now Southwest Normal University), the director of Chinese department and a professor of Library Department of Southwest Normal University, and taught Chinese classical literature history, philology, phonology, exegesis, bibliography and edition, drama history and other courses. In 1957, he was transferred to the Institute of philosophy, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a researcher, and taught Chinese philosophy history, literature history and collation at Peking University, Renmin University of China and Central Party school. At the age of 21, he went to Wuxi to learn from famous teachers Chen Shiyi and Yang Zhifu. After Shi Yi's introduction, he went to Suzhou to meet Zhang Taiyan, a master of Chinese studies. He was accepted by Zhang as a disciple and joined Zhang's "Chinese Studies Seminar", specializing in literature, phonology and exegesis. He was deeply influenced by Zhang Taiyan in his academic thoughts and methods.
Wu Zeyu was engaged in education all his life. When he was young, he taught with Wu Zuxiang in Maolin YangZheng primary school. During the Anti Japanese War, he successively served as professor of Chinese Department of Nanyue Normal University and Chongqing women's normal university. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he was the director and professor of the Chinese Department of Southwest Normal University and the professor of the Library Department. He taught Chinese classical literature history, philology, phonology, exegesis, bibliography and edition, drama history and other courses. In 1957, he was transferred to work in the Institute of philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and taught Chinese philosophy history, literature history and collation for Peking University, Renmin University of China and the Central Party school. Wu Zeyu was rigorous in his studies and quick to accept new things. It is the basic skill and necessary way of academic research to study the textual research. In the article "on data", it is said that "textual research is not any phenomenon of things, but must have the key in the whole thing, reflect the essence of things, and explain the basic aspects and main points of the development law of things". In the process of academic research, he insisted on making scientific conclusions with dialectical materialism and seeking truth from facts. Wu Zeyu's main achievement in textual research is the collation of special books. He once devoted himself to the writing of Huainanzi Jishi. He examined 99 different versions, manuscripts, edited versions, annotated versions and proofread versions, quoted more than 210 kinds of books, and changed the manuscript five times. At the invitation of historian Gu Jiegang, he took part in the punctuation and annotation of the Twenty-Four Histories of Jin Shu, and wrote eight volumes of Jin Shu Zheng Yi and forty volumes of Jin Hui Yao. Bao Shichen, a scholar of the countryside, wrote five kinds of annals of an Wu, annals of an Wu and textual research on works of an Wu. In the aspect of edition bibliography, there are 12 volumes of Jicang Jishi. He wrote a lot in his life, collating more than 260 volumes, including more than 30 kinds and more than 200 volumes of Jing Zhai Cong manuscript. There are 13 volumes of Da Dai Li Ji Zhu Shu and Li Ji Shuyao. Due to the need of mathematics, he compiled the Chinese reference book, the general theory of edition collation, the history of literature in Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Yi Zhi of CI studies, and the compendium of the history of Chinese opera. Published by Zhonghua Book Company are Yanzi Chunqiu Jishi and Halal Jishi. In addition, historical articles are often published in newspapers and periodicals.
Wu is quiet, modest and free. A good collection of books makes a home impossible. The room number is "Manyu hall" and the study name is "zhuojingzhai", which is used to express Chonghe's leisurely and tranquil scholarship. Writing at the desk every night, decades like a day, eventually leading to chronic fatigue. In 1971, his left body was partially abandoned, and he still insisted on reading and writing on his couch. He died in Beijing in 1977.

In his whole life, he was mainly engaged in the exegesis of ancient books and wrote many works.

There are more than 260 volumes of collation and collation, including more than 30 kinds and more than 200 volumes of Jing Zhai Cong manuscript, mainly including Da Dai Li Ji Zhu Shu (13 volumes), Li Ji Shu Yao (13 volumes), Jin Hui Yao (Jin Hui Yao), Yan Zi Chun Qiu Ji Shi (spring and Autumn Annals), Lun Heng Ji Shi (Lun Heng Ji Shi), Mo Zi Ji Shi (Mo Zi Ji Shi), etc. Due to the need of teaching, he compiled the Chinese reference book, the general theory of edition collation, the history of literature in Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Yi Zhi of CI ology, and the compendium of the history of Chinese opera. He is good at composing Ci, and his posthumous work manyuguan CI contains hundreds of Ci, which contains the beauty of Mengchuang and the depression of Bishan. In addition, xinqiji CI anthology, the second printed edition of Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in 1999, was renamed xinqiji anthology, which contains 148 Jiaxuan Ci poems, and the annotations are very precise. Her daughter, Wu Shouju, is currently a researcher at the Institute of religion, Chinese Academy of social sciences.
