Wu Shihan (1798-1855) was born in Shilian, Suichang County, Zhejiang Province. Qing Dynasty Daoguang 20 years (1840) in Jinshi. Juvenile mechanics, well read. He studied in Hangzhou Fuwen academy and enjoyed a good reputation.

His poems and essays have been passed down by scholars and admired by famous scholars in Zhejiang and Zhejiang provinces. At the beginning, he was the magistrate of Boling (now Lixian County, Hebei Province). After three years of mourning, he was transferred to Yunnan Province, where he successively served as county magistrate of Tonghai, Taihe and Huize counties. He worked hard and loved the people. When he was 58 years old, he died of heatstroke on the way home. His works include Youzhai poetry anthology, Yiyuan notes and Pingchang poetry. It was introduced into the dictionary of Chinese names.
