Ye Cheng's character is Yuanjing (Yuanjing is written in the history of silent poetry, and Ye Cheng is taken as ye Yuanjing in the Ming Dynasty painting record, which is doubted to be wrong). He was born in Wu (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). He imitated Dong Yuan in landscape painting and was Dai Jin's teacher.
