Bao Bo was born in Hefei, Luzhou in the Northern Song Dynasty. Bao Bo's grandson adopted Bao Zheng as his heir. Bao Zheng's eldest son, Bao MI, died early in Tanzhou. The orphan Bao Wenfu died at the age of five.
