Ding Sheng, commander in chief and divisional commander of the PLA, mobilized more than 2500 people to take part in the battle: the divisional independent regiment and the western Liaoning detachment (composed of the 30th regiment and the 2nd Battalion of the 70th regiment in April 1946) took the main attack and attacked from north to South; the independent battalion of Redong and other departments blocked the east of Dalinghe; the 39th regiment of the 13th brigade took the 2nd Battalion as the reserve; the 37th regiment blocked the enemies of Lingyuan and Kazuo. The battle started at 24 o'clock on October 14. After 16 hours of fierce fighting, Jianchang was liberated. In this battle, more than 1300 people from two regiments of the fourth northeast security detachment were annihilated. Among them, Luo Xingguang, deputy commander of the fourth detachment and Pang Songbo, speaker of Jianchang County, were captured alive.
