Huang foyi (1886-1946), whose name is Cibo, was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. He was a book collector and philologist in the Republic of China. He was a member of Nanshe and a tribute student in the late Qing Dynasty. I like to collect cultural relics and ancient books, especially gold and stone relics. I collect more than 40 kinds of genealogy.
During the land reform period, Huang foyi was regarded as a profiteer and landlord by the working party. Later, the South China Sea farmers association thought that he was not a villain and suggested that he should be released with a large amount of money instead. So he sold a lot of the collection at a low price to pay the fine. He was diligent in collecting local documents all his life. For this reason, he wrote a brief account of Guangdong's song, yuan and Ming Dynasty editions. He recorded and investigated the origin, scale and development history of book engraving in Fujian, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places, and summed up the characteristics of ink printing and the inheritance and distribution of local editions. It is not only a necessary reference for the study of the history of local book engraving and even the cultural history, but also an important basis for the identification and collection of ancient books. It has compiled Guangzhou Chengfang annals, Yingde County continuation annals, Huang Jiacheng continuation annals, Zhuji Lane people moving to the south, etc.
