Gu Xuan
Gu Xuan? He was born in Shanghai county (now Shanghai city), Songjiang Prefecture, and the daughter of Zhu Xu, who participated in politics in Shandong Province.
Zhu Xuan was a talented woman from the south of the Yangtze River in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. She was born in an official family. She was very intelligent when she was young. She was able to write poems and compositions and loved Western learning. After the family suffered, they were exiled to Guangzhou and settled in reranzhai, Taiwan. The works left behind mainly include the collection of Xili and its translations, such as the first volume of the New Testament and the translation of European poems.
Come from a famous family
Gu Xuan, whose real name is Zhu Ying and whose name is Ziyu and Yingxi, is the daughter of Zhu Xu, the censor of Henan Province. Her mother came from the Gu family in Yunjian, an official family. Gu family lived in Shanghai from the end of the Yuan Dynasty, and then spread all over the south of the Yangtze River. In the history of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Gu Yanwu (a famous thinker, statesman and writer) was the most famous member of Gu family. Besides Gu Yanwu, there were many talented men and women in Gu family.
Zhu Ying grew up in a large family of "elegant and talented people". When she was a child, her parents invited a teacher to teach her to study at home. She "never forgets" her memory. In her early years, Zhu Ying was fond of reading missionary works and learning a lot of western thoughts and Sciences.
Family disaster
Zhu Ying's father, Zhu Xu, was a Jinshi in the seventh year of Tianqi (1627). Later, he was a member of the water department of the Ministry of industry, wailang, and a temple official of Taipusi. In the 12th year of Chongzhen (1639), he changed the way of Henan to supervise the censor, and sent local officials to Luoyang. Not long after he took office in Luoyang, Li Zicheng's peasant army captured the city and took part in politics. Wang Yinchang was in command of the police. Wang Shaoyu, the commander in chief, Liu Jianyi, and Luo Tai led troops into the city. I wish they had sent customs clearance documents. Zhu Changxun, king of Houfu, was arrested and killed. Emperor Chongzhen ordered to punish the officials who were killed. Wang Yinchang and others were arrested and executed for "treason and rebellion". Zhu Xu committed suicide in his post and his family members were implicated. Zhu Xuan was Zhu Xu's eldest daughter. She was betrothed to someone at that time, so she got away with it. After that, I don't know if I will get married. Soon after, Zhu Ying changed her name to Gu Xuan and moved to Guangzhou.
Ideological progress
According to unofficial records, Zhu Ying read books as a child and praised Wang Yangming's thoughts. After reading Li Zhi's thought of opposing the old feudal ethics and supporting openness and freedom, he agreed with it very much. He wrote the article "Yukun", which was later included in his anthology "Xili collection", in which he preserved some ideas about the people-oriented thought, and even talked about the idea of "changing the system".
