Wang Tingbi
Wang Tingbi (1906-1928), a native of Sanshui (now Xunyi), Shaanxi Province, was one of the seven martyrs of Xunyi uprising.
In 1925, Wang Tingbi joined the Communist Party of China in Xi'an Xinmin middle school. In August 1926, he returned to Xunyi and taught in Baota primary school in his alma mater county. In October of the same year, the Xunyi special branch of the Communist Party of China was established, and Wang served as the propaganda director of the special branch office. They participated in the demonstration leading the students in the county and the farmers nearby to oppose the advance collection of money and grain by the county government. In November, Xu Caisheng and others founded the wall tabloid "people's weekly" to promote the peasant movement. In the winter of 1927, Pang Tianlai, the county magistrate, was arrested and jailed for jointly exposing to the provincial newspapers the crime of embezzling public funds and killing the common people. After his release, he was sent to Chunhua to launch a peasant siege. He was arrested at Baota primary school in Xunyi County on May 30, 1928.
