Wang Yizhong (1921-1994), a Bai nationality, was born in Jianchuan, Yunnan Province. He has done fruitful work for Baoshan counties to establish county Party committees and county governments in accordance with the Kuomintang regime.
Profile
Wang Yizhong was admitted to the high school attached to Yunda in early 1938. He joined the vanguard of Chinese national liberation in November and the Communist Party of China in December. He successively served as leader of the vanguard team and Secretary of the Party branch. After graduating from university in 1942, he taught in Jianchuan middle school. In 1945, he served as the director of the public education Museum of Eshan county and the first Secretary of the County Working Committee the next year. In May 1948, he served as a member of the working committee of Western Yunnan and Secretary of the working committee of Jianchuan County. On April 2 of the next year, the "4.2" armed riot was successfully held in Jianchuan, which liberated the first county in western Yunnan. In July 1949, he served as a front-line member of the three detachment of the people's self-defense army in western Yunnan. In the same year, he went to Baoshan with Zhu Jiabi's "border vertical" westward troops to carry out work. On December 28, Baoshan established a local Party committee and a special office. As secretary and Commissioner of the local Party committee, he has done fruitful work for Baoshan counties to establish county Party committees and county governments in accordance with the Kuomintang regime. In 1950, he was elected vice chairman of the people's democratic coalition government of all ethnic groups in Baoshan. From 1955 to 1983, he successively served as the director of the general office and Secretary of the Party group of the people's Committee of Yunnan Province, the president, Secretary of the Party group and Party committee of Yunnan University for nationalities, the director of culture and Secretary of the Party group of Yunnan Province, the member of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People's Congress and the deputy director of the National Committee of Yunnan Province. Retired in 1988, he devoted his whole life to the party and the people, both before and after liberation.
