Wang Shimao
Wang Shimao (June 14, 1536 - August 5, 1588) was born in Taicang, Suzhou in Ming Dynasty (now Taicang, Jiangsu). Jiajing Jinshi, who was tired of being an official to Taichang Shaoqing, was the younger brother of Wang Shizhen, a litterateur and historian in Ming Dynasty. He was fond of learning poetry and writing, and his talent and reputation were inferior to his elder brother.
Life of the characters
Wang Shimao was born in the Wang family of Taicang, which is famous for his clothes, poems and books. He is the younger brother of Wang Shizhen, the leader of the seven sons after Ming Dynasty. He is studious and good at poetry. Although his name is not like his elder brother, Shizhen thinks that he is superior to himself and strongly recommends him. In the 38th year of Jiajing reign, he was ranked the 148 in the top three. At that time, Wang Zhen, his father, was beheaded in the western city of Beijing for disobeying Yan Song and his son. The two brothers wept and wailed at each other and returned home in mourning. At the end of his mourning period, Shimao began to serve as the head of the Department of ritual system in Nanjing. Later, he was promoted to wailang, a member of the Ministry, and his mother died. After that, he successively served as temple priest, Shangbao County minister, Jiangxi counsellor, Shaanxi Xuezheng, Fujian tixue, and finally as Shaoqing of Taichang temple in Nanjing. In the first year of Longqing (1567), the Wang brothers went to Beijing to sue their father for injustice and vindicate his father. He was ill and died in 1588.
He likes to collect ancient and modern printed books, such as "heshixuan", which includes classics and historical books, and most of which are printed in Song Dynasty. It is said that Wang Shizhen has built another library, and he did not build the library as "wanjuan Lou". It has collected the calligraphy "Ode to graduation" by Suo Jing, a famous calligrapher of Jin Dynasty, which is the earliest extant ink handed down from generation to generation. There are 10 volumes of the book of Fashu yaolu written by Zhang Yanyuan in Tang Dynasty. He has printed 8 volumes of Zhuo Mingqing's Zhuo Shi Zaolin. The summary of the general catalogue of Siku Quanshu says that it is "not the same opinion of the party but different opinions".
Anecdotes and allusions
Wang Shimao recorded a tea incident when he was an official in Jiangxi Province in his book Er chieftain Wei tan. On a summer day in the middle of March, the sun was rising like a fire and the heat was surging. When the guests returned home after the banquet, it was getting late and they were bored. At this time, Zhang Youbo, a good friend, brought him Xishan Yunwu new tea. Looking at the tea, it was white and big, and had a bean flavor. Then he ordered his servant to take fresh water to cook the tea. At this time, the wind is clear and the moon is white. In the dead of night, the entrance of several lamps, but I feel a fragrance and sweet taste, slowly moistening in the heart and penetrating into the limbs, so I feel like two armpits of wind, and I feel like a fairy. Just when I feel drunk, I suddenly realize that this situation and taste are not owned by people in official career. Red tape and extravagant affairs will definitely not let people into this situation. Moreover, the intrigue and even bloodbath in official career are not related to this situation.

His works include Wang Yi Bu Ji, excerpts from Er chieftain Wei Tan, travels to famous mountains, Fengchang Ji Ci, peeping at the sky, Yipu Jieyu, etc. The history of Ming Dynasty is attached to the biography of Wang Shizhen. In his collection of poetics, Yipu Jieyu, there are many points of view which have modified and even broken through the Poetics of Qizi school.
