Yuan Jing (1011-1091) was a monk of Tianzhu Mountain in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in the Northern Song Dynasty. Wu Xiang, the common surname Xu, was born in Qian (now Lin'an County, Zhejiang Province). He once served as the abbot of the upper and lower Tianzhu temples, with more than 10000 disciples. Because he was proficient in Buddhist scriptures and was noble and pure, he was granted purple cassock and the title of "master of distinguishing talents". He had a lot of contacts with famous scholars, such as Zhao he, Su Shi, Qin Guan, etc. Back home in the West Lake Longjing Shengshou hospital, longevity without illness.
