Zaichun, Mu Zong of Qing Dynasty, was the emperor of Qing Dynasty.
Aixinjueluo. Manchu. He was the eldest son of Yichen. Xianfeng eleven years (1861) at the age of 6, namely the throne, by SUSHUN and other eight ministers at the command of the assistant, fixed the age of Qixiang. In September of the same year, his birth mother, Empress Dowager Cixi, and Prince Gong Yiluo, launched a coup and changed the title to Tongzhi. After he ascended the throne, his mother, Empress Dowager Cixi, took power. During his reign, he relied on the Xiang and Huai armies and foreign armies to pacify the Taiping army, Nien army, Hui people and Miao people's uprising. Under the leadership of the Westernization Movement, he carried out the new policy of self-improvement and seeking wealth, and founded industrial and mining enterprises. He met with Western envoys to maintain a peaceful situation between China and foreign countries, which eased the crisis of the Qing Dynasty. He was called Tongzhi Zhongxing by the old historians. He died in December of the 13th year of Tongzhi and was buried in Huiling. The temple is named Mu Zong and the posthumous title is emperor Yi.
