Wang Tingna (1573-1619), who was born in Haiyang Town, Xiuning, Anhui Province, was a man of Changchao and Wuwei.

Life

He was a disciple of Shen Jing, the leader of Wujiang school. He also made friends with Tang Xianzu, Wang Zhitang and Li Zhi. He was an official salt transport envoy and later relegated to Ningbo Prefecture.

In the golden autumn of 1608, Tang Xianzu, a famous dramatist and author of the Peony Pavilion, traveled with Cheng boshu to the land of Xiuning from thousands of miles away to visit Wang Tingna. Wang Tingna accompanied two visitors from afar to huancuitang garden, where they drank wine, talked about the past and the present, recited poems, played the piano and played chess for several days. The engraving of landscape of huancuitang was printed by Wang Tingna's huancuitang bookstore in the 30th to 33rd year of Wanli (1602-1605). It is 1488 cm in length and 24 cm in height.
