Liu Gongchen, Zi Zhaozhao, whose birth and death are unknown. In the Northern Song Dynasty, he was born in Changde, Hunan Province.
Song Renzong Tiansheng eight years (1030) Jinshi, successive Ezhou, Yuezhou Tongtan. In the second year of Zhihe (1055), he took office as the magistrate of Yongzhou, and founded the state school. In the east of it, he built a new temple named liuhou (Zongyuan) and wrote a record of it. In the third year of Zhihe (1056), he visited Mars rock in Yongzhou with his friends and wrote an impromptu poem entitled "the couplet of visiting Mars rock in late spring with Yin Zhan", which was selected and engraved by Changde Poetry Wall. He is proficient in the book of changes and spring and Autumn Annals, especially good at calligraphy. He once titled Chaoyang rock, Huayang rock and other scenic spots. At the age of 60, he resigned and returned home. He built a house and a bridge in Qingling village of Baimahu Lake (now Hunan University of Arts and Sciences) in the west of the city, and invited Zeng Gong, one of the eight famous writers of the Tang and Song Dynasties, to write a record of it.
