Cha Chun was once the magistrate of Guilin. His father, Zha Li, was once the Tongzhi of Qingyuan Prefecture in Guangxi. In 1754, he was ordered to take part in the work of dredging Lingqu. He explored the source of Hunan and Li, and in 1754, he wrote the word "Lingqu" in feilaishi cliff. In order to fulfill his father's last wish, Zha Chun carved the "Xiangli distribution" stele on huazui 38 years later. It is an influential stone carving in Lingqu, which is very attractive.
In December 1938, Chiang Kai Shek and his wife came to the Xing'an Lingqu and observed the monument at the original monument, then set up the Meiling Pavilion beside the monument.
